Embrace the variable beam angle of a Fresnel light while keeping a compact kit by using the F8-200 Daylight LED Fresnel from Zylight. It has a flat shape and an 8" lens that extends away from the body, but closes down for storage and transport. Inside is a 200W Quantum Dot LED with a CRI of 96 that gives this unit an output equivalent to that of a 400W HMI fixture. Also, it is balanced with a 5600K color temperature and has an adjustable beam angle from 16-70°. Also, the light can be dimmed from 0-100% via local controls, over DMX, or by using the ZyLink Wireless system.

The physical design is quite durable with an IP54-rated weather resistance and active cooling for reducing heat. It accepts power via a 4-pin XLR input and can accept an optional battery caddie for true portability. Along with this, it has a yoke mount for use on a light stand and comes with a universal AC power supply.

A: The F8 200w has double the power of the F8 100w.

Q: 2. Any reason this could not be used to power an Amaran 100d over 3-pin XLR?

A: No. The following unit is made and designed for the powerhouse 330W Daylight LED Moonlight system.

Q: 3. Does the fan cooling system cause problems with audio? Zylight claims it is “silent.”

A: We never had negative feedback about any Fan noise.

Q: 4. Do you have the exact same kit but in TUNGSTEN version? I can't find it on your web store.

A: Unfortunately, we only carry the daylight version in kit form. However, we do have the F8-T Fresnel, ZYF8T sold individually. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 5. Is there a V-mount battery option for the Zylight F8-200?

A: Yes there is! The F8 200 uses 2pc of 14.4v battery (8 amps min) and we have a Dual Battery Adapter to allow battery powering. It mounts right to your light stand. You need the Battery Adapter and the Power Cable. Q: 6. what is the diameter of the fresnel lens?

A: The Fresnel 200 from Dracast has a 3" fresnel lens.

Q: 7. Are power supplies included in this kit?

A: The AC power supplies for each LED panel in this kit are included.

Q: 8. Is this case durable enough and within size/weight limits to check when flying on planes?

A: It is very durable, but not at all within weight limits. We got two Pelican Air cases and fit everything in them, and each is now under the limit and portable. But the case the kit came in took two people to lift.

Q: 9. Hi, when AC powered or for charging batteries, does it accept 220V ?

A: The LED lights come with a multi-voltage AC adapter which is 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.The kit does not come with batteries but most battery chargers these days are also multi-voltage.

Q: 10. What is the ouput comparison to hmi or tungsten? I dont see a foot candle chart. Also how long will a 150wh battery last at full power on this fixture?

A: According to Zylight, the F8-D has the light output just below a 1000 watt tungsten fresnel and the light output equivalent to 200 watts of HMI. As for how long a 150Wh battery would last on this light, you would get about 1.5 hours of life at full power.

This is the best pound-for-pound fighter in this weight class, considering price and power output. The CSP, as opposed to the COB, provides a slightly softer light that is ideal for photography. We also have a Colbor CL220, which is significantly smaller and less robust, with overheating issues. This light is more durable, and for the price, it is hard to beat. If you're searching for a budget friendly light, this is an easy choice. 5

I bought an FS-300 and an FS-200 last year to use for video production and also studio photography. The light quality was excellent so when this unit went on sale before the holidays I added another FS-200 and retired a Godox light the color of which was not as good as the Nanlite. The FS-200 is solidly built and has good and easy to understand controls. The color is consistent and matches well with my other two Nanlite FS units. All good. 5
