I got the OEM Nikon dummy battery from the B&H used store, and this unit works flawlessly with it in my OG Z6. I've used it along with an external recorder and a large SSD to record multiple hours non-stop, and on my desk use it to power the Z6 as a web cam while working. In the few weeks I've owned it, it's been flawless in hours of continuous use. If you're worried about using this non-OEM adapter, or if you can use it with the OEM Nikon dummy battery, in both instances it's been perfect for me. 5

I've owned this type of accessory ac adapter from Nikon before and And I highly recommend it for any new camera purchase if you think you're going to do a lot of indoor photographing time or will be near a wall outlet. It makes sure you watch out for compatibility because these items seem to change and compatibility information is not very easy to find on the nikon website. T 5

I had an earlier version of this adapter which I sold to B&H and purchased this one which is compatible with a Z8. It is a perfect solution for providing power to the Camera when you have access to AC power for such things as time-lapse, or other uses where the camera would be on for extended periods 5
