Leica puts a new spin on their perennial favorite, the 10x42 Trinovid HD Binoculars with phase corrected prisms, coated with highly reflective multi-coatings to increase reflectivity and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics to boost light transmission through the lenses. These optical coatings work together to produce high-contrast images with true color rendition and minimal distortion. This optical performance is coupled with a powerful 10x magnification, wide apparent angle of view and generous eye relief to produce an immersive viewing experience.

Complementing the views produced by the Trinovid HD are construction details that make this optic able to stand up to the rigors of a life lived on the trail. First is a lightweight, sturdy, and corrosion-resistant magnesium alloy chassis that makes these binoculars light and easy to handle. The body is covered with a textured rubber armor that protects them from bumps and impacts while giving them a slip-resistant grip in cold or wet conditions. Their optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and submersible as well as fogproof when moving between extreme temperature fluctuations. To make handling the Trinovid easier are tethered objective lens covers that flip down and out of the way for observing, plus an ocular rainguard that attaches to the strap.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the strap included?

A: Yes a Strap is included.

Q: 2. Why did you choose this model over the LEICA Ultravid HD 10x32?

A: I am not quite sure what you mean. However I do know most people choose the 42mm Size because it is brighter, and better in low light. The 32mm are lighter weight, however not as bright.

Q: 3. What is the warranty for a USA purchaser?

A: These binoculars carry a 3-Year Leica No-Fault Passport Warranty and Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Q: 4. weight of leica 8-42 binoculars?

A: Just under 26 ounces, 25.75.

Q: 5. What’s the warranty on the Leica binocular? And is it transferable

A: This Leica Binoculars would come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, Please make sure to register them, and if you need to transfer them over you would need to contact Lecia to arrange that.

Q: 6. What country are Trinovids made?

A: The Trinovid HD Binoculars are made in Portugal.

Q: 7. What happened to the Adventure Strap mentioned in the user manual we received with the binoculars (it says it should come attached)? I do see it's not listed in the "In the box" list on the website, and there's a cloth pouch instead. Just thinking this matter neads clarification for future buyers.

A: the strap is in the box: if you didn't receive it, please call customer service. In the Box: Leica 10x42 Trinovid HD Binocular Neoprene Carrying Strap One-Piece Ocular Rainguard 2 x Objective Lens Caps Brown Zippered Cloth Pouch Limited Lifetime Warranty

Q: 8. Is this product en/bs standard

A: Yes. The Leica 8x32 Trinovid HD Binoculars are EN/BS standard according to the manufacturer.

Q: 9. are those made in Germany?

A: No they are made in Portugal. I have a pair of Trinovid 8 X 32 I bought about 20 yrs ago that were made in Germany; these (10X40) are just as good. Both terrific. I like the larger image. The slightly heavier weight also help me steady my tremor. Good glasses!

Q: 10. Which bino is a lighter, smaller item for hiking and 1000meter distance

A: The distance of 1,000 meters is over ½ mile. You made a good choice with the Leica. You may want to consider a binocular that is 10x32, which will have the same magnification but will be smaller and lighter. The ZEISS 10x32 Conquest HD (B&H# ZE10X32C) or the Leica 10x32 Trinovid HD (B&H# LE10X32THDB) are great choices.

These binoculars are simply amazing especially in low light conditions. The clarity of the glass is great edge to edge. If your looking for a great pair of binoculars look no further. Buy once cry once. You won't regret it after using them.

The Trinovid is a great choice for anyone who doesn't want to take out a second mortgage for a quality pair of binoculars. They are sharp, light and comfortable to use. The eyecups are perfect in every way and fit my eyes just right. The focus wheel is smooth as silk...my favorite out of all my binoculars. The rubber armoring is great as well. The colors are good...a little bit on the warm side. CA is ok, low in the center, but high at the edges. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with them at this price point. I have and really like the Zeiss Conquest as well, but prefer the Trinovid due to the ergonomics

These will be, I believe, the last binocs I buy. In an era where everything is disposable, these binocs are something else, set apart from the rest: small, correct weight for me, they feel sturdy and I am finally able to see bird colors with low light!! 47 years with cheap binocs and I finally went with these used Leica. Best 800 bucks spent for my birding hobby, ever! Thank you B&H!!

I have owned a pair of 8X32 trinovids for at least 20 years. I have wanted a binocular with a greater enlargement as in this case by a quarter. Also a wider field of vision. After studying a lot of options and talking with Patrick, your sales rep, I bought these. They have proven to be better than I imagined in that they are slightly heavier and this calms my tremor. I have already recommended to others not only trinovids but buying from B&H. Thanks, Nick (Richard).
