Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Worldwide coverage or not ?

A: No, the Canon CarePAK PLUS Accidental Damage Protection does not have worldwide coverage. According to Canon USA's website, the Canon CarePAK PLUS is valid for sale exclusively within the USA, limited to the 50 states and District of Columbia. All registered users must reside within the 50 States or District of Columbia. Any damage that occurs outside of the USA is fully covered but the damaged product must be returned to a Canon USA factory service location.

Q: 2. Does the insurance cover theft?

A: Canon 4-Year CarePAK PLUS Service Plan with ADP for DSLRs and Mirrorless Cameras doesn't cover theft.

Q: 3. does the carepak cover damage and repair if insured is outside of the US and, if so, is there temporary loaner program?

A: Unfortunately Canon Carepak does not cover outside of the USA.

Q: 4. Where is my Carepak activation code?

A: After you purchase CarePAK PLUS, you will receive an email with your order confirmation and Registration Link. Please allow a couple of days for the email to arrive. You can find more information here: https://bit.ly/38K5kVT.

Q: 5. Will this cover the A7III and it's notorious shutter issues?

A: This does not cover the Son A7III. This is for Sony Camcorders such as the HXR-NX80 or HXR-NX100 or Digital Cinema Cameras like the FX6 or FX3. If you are interested in an extended warranty for an A7III camera we recommend the All-State Plans. in addition to covering electronic and mechanical defects (like the camera shutter) they will also cover for accidental damage. You can add an All-State Protection plan after adding the camera to your shopping cart or in the shopping cart itself.

Q: 6. what is the ADP part of CarePAK PLUS?

A: Canon CarePak PLUS comes with Accidental Damage Protection (ADP). To quote what that entails, Canon's website mentions "protection from kids, pets, and life including accidental damage such as drops, spills, power surges and other unforeseen events," although it does cover damage to the registered item from accidents of other natures as well.

Q: 7. my brand new Mark IV keeps creating corrupt images. I'm using brand new 128GB SanDisk SD & CF cards, all purchased from B&H. Is it possible my CF card reader could be corrupting my images?

A: Should not be an issue with the equipment, usually it is user error, but if it is still covered under CanonCare, I would have Canon check it out just incase.

Q: 8. Can you purchase this plan for Canon DSLR's purchased in the USA but used outside of USA? - hugh

A: The plan only works in the US though, and you can if you're still within 90 days of purchase.

Q: 9. If you drop your camera and it breaks beyond repair, will they give you a NEW camera... NOT a refurbished one???

A: The replacement may be brand new or refurbished at their discretion.

Q: 10. This says its for DSLRs I just purchased the eos m50 which is mirrorless will this carepak cover my eos m50?

A: Yes, it will cover a canon mirrorless interchangeable lens camera.

Purchasing an expensive piece of equipment that you know will end up in every type of environment possible requires a back up plan. I have purchased other care packages that covered less for more money. I fortunately haven't had to use the service yet, but the coverage is good, and I feel better about freely using my camera anywhere I need to!

Accidental damage coverage on a $5700 Lens is a no brainer and everyone should have.

I just purchased this protection plan for a camera I also just purchased. Canon has served me well with very few problems, so I hope I never have to use it.

Not much to review. Order through B&H. Canon sends you a file with the number you can use if your product needs repair
