The A7S Cage for Sony a7S/a7R from CAME-TV surrounds your camera with accessory mounting options while maintaining access to the display, battery, and card slot. This cage features an anti-twist design, an HDMI/USB cable clamp, and lightweight, aluminum construction. Multiple accessory-mounting options include 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded holes, and two cold shoe mounts.

The included baseplate has dual 15mm LWS rod clamps, used with separately available rods for mounting accessories such as a follow focus, matte box, or external battery solution. The A7S Cage for Sony a7S/a7R includes a top handle that can be attached or removed without requiring the use of tools.

Q: 1. can this cage be mounted to a tripod?

A: Yes it can be. The cage has 1/4 -20 threads on the bottom of it which will allow it to be mounted on a tripod.

Q: 2. Can you remove the mattebox if needed? Or will removing the mattebox make it so you can't use the follow focus?

A: Yes, you can remove the matte box and leave the rest.

Q: 3. How can you charge the motor if it uses a D-TAP male as the end of the charging cable?

A: The D-tap port of a battery recognizes the cable and will output power through the cable to the motor.

Q: 4. does this work with the c100?

A: No. It is specifically designed for the C200.

Q: 5. Will this rig screw right onto a manfrotto tripod base plate??

A: There is threading on the underside of the rig to allow fitment onto tripod plates. You can use Manfrotto quick release plates with this product.

Q: 6. Will this work with the A7III?

A: It will not as the A7III uses a different battery than the models this works with.

Q: 7. What charger should I use to charge the handwheel? Is it possible to damage the equipment if using a higher volt charger like those using for fast charging on phones?

Q: 8. How many motor can it control?

A: This is a single channel system for 1 motor only.

Q: 9. Will this cage fit on Ronin M ?

A: It may work, if you removed both the 15mm baseplate and the top handle. We do not recommend using the Ronin-M with a camera in a cage like this. The Ronin-M will balance better with an A7 camera that just has a lens on it.

Q: 10. Can it be used with GH5?

A: No. The following unit is designed and made to comfortably support your Panasonic GH4 only.

This follow focus has become my GO-TO because of how convenient & smooth it is! I love that you can snap these on 15mm rods so easy and quickly, without moving anything else on my rig (URSA Mini Pro G2) Of course, this thing is just super smooth too! Nice and Sturdy with no play on the lens at all! The hard stops are really nice (especially for my photo lenses that I use) and the precision! A must buy! (I received this product in exchange for my honest review) 5

I've been using the CAME TV Mini V Mounts for a couple of years now and they have been rock solid. Pretty good for a Chinese brand I had never heard of. I mounted the CAME TV V Mount plate on my new FX6 and have shot with it half a dozen times now, it's been flawless. O use the Sprig cable management loops to contain the various VF, monitor and SDI feeds from my FX6 to on-board monitor, wireless transmitter and I used the 1/4 20s to mount the wireless transmitter. The best part is I can still run the stock battery to keep rolling when I do battery changes with the V Mounts, genius! Machining on the plate is top notch, it stays where I lock it into place as far as the tilt angle. Compared to the few other plates that will allow you to use a V mount and the stock battery, this CAME TV plate is by far the best value, some of the others cost more than double the money and aren't really much, if at all better. I highly recommend this plate AND the CAME TV Mini V Mount batteries, great, economical, high value combo. 5

It's been amazing using this follow focus system on my shoulder rig. Fitting it on the rods and adjusting the positioning are super simple and the system itself doesn't add much weight which is great. The adjustable hard stops and marking disc are nice for more cinematic stuff. Adding this to my gear arsenal has been a blessing. I use this almost every time I shoot now. 5
