A: Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list a tungsten wattage equivalent for this light. What they do list is the lumens rating of 8508.

A: They are daylight balanced only but they come with a CTO filter that attaches to the front of the lens.

Q: 4. Is 85 supposed to be a high CRI?

A: While it is subjective, it is often considered that a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 85 or higher is recommended as a good CRI measurement for photography usage needs, while those shooting video and broadcast may recommend a CRI of 90 or higher for their usage needs. A higher CRI is recommended when it is necessary or mandatory to display colors accurately, such as with product photography and video (think make-up products, textiles, paints, or fashion, where accurate display of colors is crucial for the brand in question). My recommendation would be to test the light you wish to use and post process your image/video, comparing it to the actual scene to see if the colors that are rendered in your output work is satisfactory for your usage needs. If you like the results, awesome. If not, then I would recommend finding a light fixture with a higher CRI. As 100 is considered the perfect standard (think tungsten lighting or daylight), the higher the CRI you can obtain, the better the light fixture's color rendition.

A: As per the manufacturer, the CRI is 96 on this unit. However, they don't offer a TLCI rating just yet.

A: The light can be used in many distances and there is no one specific distance. It is pretty bright the light is 4200 Lumens.

A: It comes with a CTO filter that you can attach between the barndoor and the light. You can cut a gel filter with the same measure and attach at this place.

Q: 8. Does anyone know a particular brand of NPF batteries this will work with? I have 4x NPF 970 batteries and only one of them (I'm not sure what brand it is) will power the Boltzen - the rest will power it for about 30 sec and then it will die.

A: A suitable NP-F battery is the CAME-TV NP-F960 Li-Ion Battery B&H # CANPF960. However, it is a special order item.

Q: 9. Would this light be ok to add a soft spot onto background? How could you attach gels to it?

A: As the CAME-TV Boltzen 55W Focusable Fresnel Daylight LED Light is a focusing head, you can change the light's beam angle from 20-60. At 20, it would work as a soft spot for your background usage needs. You may use a standard C-47 clothespin to clip a colored filter gel onto the barndoors on the front of the CAME-TV Boltzen 55W Focusable Fresnel Daylight LED Light.
