This LEE Filters SW150 Mark II Lens Adapter is designed to allow a separately available SW150 Mark II Filter Holder to connect to a Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD lens, which then permits the use of 150mm-wide, 2mm-thick filters without vignetting.

This lens adapter consists of three components: a front ring, a compression ring, and a locking ring. Placement of the lens adapter onto the lens is easily accomplished by sliding the front ring over the built-in hood with the front ring's integrated lugs positioned away from the lens body. The compression ring can then be slid over the rear of the lens until it meets the front ring. Finally, the locking ring is also slid over the rear of the lens until it can be screwed into the front ring. After that is accomplished, an SW150 Mark II Holder can be placed over the adapter from the front of the lens for use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. would this work with the pentax 15-30 mm to allow the use of filters?

A: Yes, It does fit perfectly.

Q: 2. According to Canon, it is not recommended to use filter in the lens rear filter slot at the widest zoom because the rear glass element will hit the filter. Does anyone have this experience?

A: Yes when using these filters with a lens such as the Canon 11-24 care must be taken not to set the lens onto the widest zoom setting.

Q: 3. Will these work on the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Leica L? It says that they are for f/2.8 version.

A: This filter kit is only for the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 lens for Sony E or Leica L. The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 has a specific holder such as the NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder Kit with Landscape Circular Polarizer for Sigma 14mm Art Lens, B&H # NI150FHSI14, which can take 150mm filters that are 2mm thick. https://bhpho.to/3eQ4p43

Q: 4. I'm wondering it this adapter will work with an earlier Lee Foundation Kit (FK) holder for 4x4/4x6 filters?

A: No, this is only for the SW150 Mark II holder.

Q: 5. Will a rear mount filter system like the one on this lens work with gradient gel filters (if those even come in a gel equivalent)?

A: In all our years of cinematography we have not heard of a rear gel grad filter ever being available. It is our opinion that it would not be practical. In order to fully utilizes grad filters, the user needs to position them precisely. That position may be higher or lower than the center of the frame. Also, it could be at an angle as well. This would be very difficult to manage in a rear gel. The clear solution is using 100mm filters in a holder such as NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder Kit with Circular Polarizer for Select Tamron 15-30mm Lenses BH NIFH150T1530.

Q: 6. Where is the lens made?

A: As per our records, this lens is made in Japan. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.

Q: 7. What is the difference between this lens with a G2 designation and the same lens without the G2?

A: To the MORON that answered "read the spec"! Michael asked his question because the spec does not spell out the difference. If you don't read the description for the product, then don't post here. People only ask legitimate because the answers were not provided in the description. Why would you pay hundreds more for a lens that is not any different from it's predecessor? Stop being hateful! We are supposed to be her to help.

Q: 8. Does this also work with the G2 version of the lens?

A: Yes, they are compatible with the G2 also.

Q: 9. What is the quality of the sunbursts that you get with this lens?

A: The sunburst are very good when using an aperture of f/11 or smaller.

Q: 10. Does this lens have an internal zoom or does it extend externally?

A: This lens has internal zoom.

Great match for EOS R with a canon metabone . The only regret is that It does not support filters. You have to buy a special metabone from canon that allow you to insert a filter in the metabone . You have to add 400 dollars for
Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter.
So you are spending 1200+400=1600 plus the filter. Canon version costs 2300. WE still save 700

I’m using this lens for the first trip to Austin TX. The colors just pop with this lens and I’m very impressed with the sharpness so far. I have noticed a little lens flare when the conditions are right but I’m not too worried about that.

This thing is phenomenal. Little to no vignetting or chromatic aberrations at any zoom or aperture. Crystal clear images, tack sharp across the board, awesome, fast focusing, and delightful vibration compensation.

If you're on the fence, just do it. You won't regret it.

I picked up this lens about 3 weeks ago. In the past, I had poor experiences with Tamron lenses, so I hoped the current reviews of this lens were accurate. I did try a Sigma 14-24 before this and was not impressed, very soft, maybe I had a poor edition. The Tamron does impress, sharp across the field at f8, easy to hand hold at 1/8 sec with vibration reduction. It is heavy and bulky, but the performance is very good and worth the weight inconvenience.

I Shoot real estate in additional to wedding photography. I had bought the Canon 16-35 L F4 on recommendation for real estate and let me tell you that lens is garbage. It had flares, ton of them. I sold it and bought the Tamron. This is probably the best real estate lens so far. I have used a few from Sony and Fuji and the Tamron excels all of them for me. Sharpness and image quality are superb.

I can honestly say I prefer this lens to the Nikon 14-24. The sharpness is honestly astonishing, and I love having the ability to zoom to 30 mm. I find myself less and less shooting at 15 mm so the small degree in wide angle is not so important. However, I find myself routinely shooting between 24 and 30 mm. So the trade off is more than justified. While you can't use screw on filters, I've turned to the NiSi filter system available for the Tamron 15-30 and it works perfectly well, though it is a bit cumbersome and awkward. Though you'd be forced to use a complicated filter system with any ultra-wide. I have found that this lens can catch some sun flares, but mostly only when shooting directly towards the sun on a bright day. I don't think there's a lens in existence that wouldn't catch some flares under those conditions.

10 years ago i borrowed a nikon 14-24mm for about two weeks and fell in love with it. since then i have always wanted one... but finding this less-expensive lens with wider zoom range and active stabilization, with excellent reviews there was just no choice. i have no regrets, this thing is awesome. ten years ago i had a DX camera, and now that i am shooting full-frame its even wider... so so heavy though, even heavier than the nikon.
