The MA-1000 Signature Series Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone from Mojave Audio draws inspiration from some of yesterday's most revered microphones. It can be used to capture audio in several environments for applications such as vocals, voice-overs, broadcast TV, piano, orchestral recordings, and more.

Technical Grammy Award-winning designer David Royer has created a modern tube microphone that features an original NOS 5840 tube, a 251-style capsule, and a custom-designed transformer built by Coast Magnetics. The result is a sweet and airy, top-end sounding, "you-are-there" realism in the midrange, and an accurate yet authoritative bottom end.

Furthermore, the tube microphone can be remotely controlled and has a continuously variable polar-pattern selector on the power supply. Some other features include: Switchable 15 db pad, bass roll-off; internal switchable power supply; Mogami cables and Neutrik connectors.

Finally, the microphone comes with a carrying case, power supply, shockmount and cables.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this microphone with my Iphone 10 with the lightining to usb converter for zoom calls ?

A: No. According to Apple, external microphones will not work with iPhones for video calls or conferencing apps like Zoom or FaceTime and only the built-in mic will work for those types of apps. External mics can be used with the iPhone for recording audio with video and for regular audio calls. Additionally, the UC4-B was designed for use with a computer and it will work for Zoom video calls with a computer. The mic would probably work for recording audio on the iPhone with the Lightning to USB adapter, though it would drain the phone's battery very quickly because it draws power via USB and more power than the iPhone can supply. iPhones were not designed for use with this type of mic.

Q: 2. Can I use this with Dragon Dictate?

A: Yes. This will work with Dragon Dictate.

Q: 3. The "Key Features" at the top say Max SPL = 140db, but the Specs say it is 130db. Which is correct?

A: The published specification is correct for the Senal SCM-660 Large-Diaphragm Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone (BH # SESCM660). It is 130 dB, but will be 140 dB with the -10 dB pad engaged. See the page 10 of the user guide here: https://bhpho.to/3WFcOhz.

Q: 4. model number?

A: The Blue Yeti Nano Multi-Pattern USB Condenser Microphone(Blackout) has a manufacturer number of 988-000400.

Q: 5. What is the Signal to Noise ratio?

A: The manufacturer has not provided a spec for signal to noise ratio. A complete list of specs for the UC4-B can be found on pages 16-17 in the user manual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/506154.pdf

Q: 6. how do i swap tube in CV 12. is there a quick way without ant unscrewing?

A: You are not able to remove the tube of the CV-12 without some disassembly. Unfortunately we are not able to provide detailed instructions.

Q: 7. Will it work with a Macbook Pro through Thunderbolt 3?

A: It will work through a Thunderbolt 3/ USB-C connection on a Macbook Pro. But you will need this Apple USB-C to A adapter to connect it. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1128928-REG/apple_mj1m2am_a_usb_c_to_usb_adapter.html.

Q: 8. Does this have the same size as the Royer Labs RSM-SS251 ?

A: While we do not have any of these items in stock to be able to do a physical hands-on comparison, I can confirm that the Mojave Audio Replacement Shockmount for MA-1000 Mic and the Royer Labs RSM-SS251 Sling-Shock Shockmount both fit the Mojave Audio MA-1000 Signature Series Multi-Pattern Tube Microphone.

Q: 9. Will I still be able to use my external Audio Engine speakers when I'm on a web conference? In other words, will the Nano eliminate any sound feedback?

A: The Nano was not designed with DSP meant to cancel out noise. While you could connect the headphone output of the mic to your Audio Engine speakers, feedback could be a potential issue. We would recommend using headphones if you are using the Yeti, or perhaps look at a conferencing style speakerphone for noise cancellation such as BH #YAYVC200B.

Q: 10. Is this appliance voltage 220V

A: Yes. It runs anywhere between 100v and 240v.

I purchased this mic for two reasons: Do conference calls from home via my computer and for my son's online piano classes. The mic works flawlessly. I'm absolutely thrilled with it.

I use it on both Mac and Windows laptops. On both laptops it works without any setup at all: Just plug and play.

Price is outrageous for the 16 and 20 foot versions but is the only option available right now for these Mojave mics. 5 pin DMX cables do not work well with these mics.

Arrived promptly and worked perfectly out of the box. Plug and play no need for any additional software. Both social media and recording software recognize it immediately.

I got this to make phone calls on a 2019 Mac Pro. It is overkill for that but I am VERY pleased with it. Well made, CLEAR sound, attractive looking (reminds me a little of Johnny Carson's studio desk) and has weight so it will stay put. I made a very good choice.
