This product surpassed my expectations, and the H.265+ compression technology is phenomenal.

A bit cumbersome to set up since it's more of a professional line, but it's not rocket science.

It is a bare bones, moved over a 6TB purple, unit formatted and initialized easily.  Had to get up and running quickly, First Hik product so had to install iVMS4200, and HikConnect on devices, at least 3 different username/password sets and not too clear on those descriptors. Used 3 IP POE hik cams, all plug and play. POE worked well.  Local monitor view and setup was excellent, wish there was better interface than a wired mouse, but at least I didnt have to repeat steps with that.  Did several reset, shutdown, and live disconnect and reconnection tests, unit rebooted fine. Good value for a DIY bundle.  Went with B&H to keep HIK usa distributor channel integrity for best support.

I bought this model to upgrade from my DS-7608NI-E2/8P. This one has more storage compacity and uses the latest software/firmware. I had no problem setting this one up. The wizard work well for me. The menus were in a different format older NVR but I was able to figure them out with no problem.

Good PVR - lots of features.

Simple plug and play. Best if using Hikvision camera rather than third party.
Had to call tech support and they did great.

This unit has worked with all the features you need. I would recommend this purchase.

I bought this to replace my NAS so I could record 24/7 on a of my cameras with out purchasing additional licenses and taxing my NAS hardware to the point of not functioning. So far it has performed wonderfully. The first 24 hrs was a little underwhelming and I was worried I would regret the purchase, but once I got everything operating how I wanted it and got used to the interface and remote interface it had lived up to my expectations. Highly recommend this unit for hikvision cameras AND 3rd party cameras. Works great with wifi connected cams as well.

I purchased this NVR for a simple two camera security system on my home. I bought a separate hard drive, which gave me twice the recording capacity for the same price as one that came pre-installed. Installation was easy, thanks to videos on YouTube. It came with the necessary connectors to install the hard drive. I installed the NVR , along with my cable modern and wifi router, in a pantry and it works fine. It is plugged into a good quality surge protector. It make a bit more noise that I expected, but it is not bothersome. Hopefully it will provide years of service.

Got this unit after returning the NXI Acusense model, which was a disappointment.

Configuration was a breeze, but it must be done locally. That is, hook up the monitor and USB mouse directly. After that you can disconnect the monitor and the mouse and manage the unit headless by iVMS-4200 software installed on a PC or Mac on the local network. Or remotely, but to do that, the configuration is a bit more complex.

I use it with a mix of genuine US Hikvision cameras and cheap ONVIF-compatible cameras. I do not use the cloud, because I configured remote access.

Going from QNAP NAS to the Hikvision NVR was like a night and day experience. This is a rock solid NVR. Feature-rich, configurable, full time recording without skipping a beat, remote access and playback though the Hik Connect mobile app are just a few things to mention. The Hik Connect mobile app is also very good and easy to use, unlike most other Chinese-made apps that are buggy, filled with spelling errors in the UI. And YES, unlike the NXI Acusense model, the firmware in this model is regularly updated and email notifications work properly.

The unit is well built but it is loud. Unless you are are hearing impaired you will not be able to keep it in a living room, bedroom, or media room. It works for me because I keep it in a utility room.

All in all, I highly recommend this model for home or business use.
