$897.00 $1,426.23

The purple Halo Reflection Filter from Aston Microphones is made with patented PET-felt acoustic technology and molding techniques to reflect, absorb and diffuse sound in both professional- and home-studio environments. Its large surface area provides linear absorption, while the corrugated surface diffuses sound for minimal coloration.

The Halo's spherical shape yields horizontal as well as vertical filtering, while its 4-inch radius improves sound isolation, making it a practical solution for recording vocal tracks or multiple acoustic instruments in one room.

You can experiment with placing the Halo in different room locations depending on the desired reflection and absorption characteristics. It is portable and lightweight and comes with proprietary mounting hardware.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Electro-Voice RE-20?

A: The stand included in this kit features a 5/8 threading for mic mounting. This will be compatible with the clips/mounts shipped with most mics including the RE-20.

Q: 2. Can this be used free standing on a table or does this need to be mounted on a mic stand?

A: It can be used on a table top as long as you remove the piece in the back that would attach it to your mic stand. Works very well for VOs when its flat on a desk or table.

Q: 3. does the reflection filter lean a little forward because of the weight plus I want to know if it's normal or just defective?

A: when I I mean it Leans forward just look at the customer image.it doesn't sit up straight it.it Leans forward with the auray reflection filter tripod.

Q: 4. How do you attach this to a Blue Yeti Blackout? Will it work well with a Blue Yeti?

A: You would need to use a Blue Radius III [BH #BLRADIUS3] to make that work.

Q: 5. Can I mount the Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB Microphone on this stand?

A: The ATR2100 USB will not be compatible with the shock mount, but can be used on the stand with the reflection filter using the stand clip that was included with the ATR2100.

Q: 6. Will this work with a desk mounted boom?

A: It will, but it is quite large and best used from a floor stand or an articulating table arm.

Q: 7. WHAT IS THE WEIGHT AND DIMENSIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT?

A: About 12 high, 14 wide, 8 deep (estimating). Perhaps 5 lbs.

Q: 8. Can i use this on a Boom arm?

A: It is best to mount it on a straight mic stand. But a well made boom arm with a heavy counterbalance should be able to support this reflection filter.

Q: 9. Will this work with a blue yeti USB microphone ?

A: It should work, provided that you can successfully mount the yeti onto a mic stand. I had a yeti years ago but sold it after deciding to record narration directly onto a digital recorder, which is better for our workflow. Overall, the RF-CM-S Reflection Filter works beautifully. It has significantly improved the quality of our voice overs because we do not have a sound proof vocal booth. Hope this helps.

Q: 10. Is the shock mount compatible with the MXL 770 or in general with all condenser mic(s) and also are the adapter compatible with all condenser microphones

A: Yes it is. Everything went together perfectly.

After I bought this mic, I dumped SM7B and RE20 in my "old things, dont use" box. This mic beats both the other mics hands down. I love it on guitar and vocals. If you do voiceovers, dont think twice.
Two things which I love about this mic are:
- built in amp
- 4 different voice modes.

The mic preserves top end, opens up the mids and tames the low end to give you great presence and silky smooth low end.

But I do have couple of gripes:
- Aston cheaped out on a proper sturdy mounts
- Mic needs a good pop filter, I use stedman pro, works well.

All in all hugely recommended over sm7b, re20.

The idea behind the swift is pretty awesome: make it just as easy to swap mics as it is to swap headphones, chairs, or music; just grab the two little tabs on the side and pop the mic in.

I got a pair of these to replace the absolutely horrendous shock mounts that came with a pair of WA-47jrs, and they fit perfectly. They fit most other similarly-sized LDCs, like Astons own Spirit and Origin, as well as a few less-predictable ones like WA-14s and other 414-like mics. They grab onto mics well and hold them even when shaken or bumped into, and the shock dissipation seems really effective so far- they even shipped extra pieces for when the shock band wears out (not to mention Aston support has been outstanding every time I need to talk to them, which is thankfully very seldom).

The only issue Ive had so far is that some particularly heavy, smooth mics will tend to slide down in the grip slowly. I think maybe if you put a rubber band around the mic right above the grip arms it should stay put, so long as you dont mind the look of that.

I also wish they made an XL size for tube mics, but it would definitely need to have a bit stronger springs/retention mechanism in it since those are considerably heavier. A smaller version for SDCs and shotgun mics would also be nice.

for the large-diameter mics that are also quite heavy, this shock mount works great.
