The Auray BAE-2X is a sturdy two-section broadcast arm with external springs. It's a versatile and practical accessory for professional and home studios, and is ideal for broadcasts, voiceovers or podcasts. The arm features an integrated 15' XLR cable.

The BAE-2X is designed with a wide range of motion for precise microphone placement and minimal noise when repositioning the microphone. The external balance-spring design is precision-engineered to support microphones of up to 3.6 lb (1.6kg), and hold them in place. This broadcast arm features a standard 5/8"-27 microphone stud mount that's compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips. The angle of the stud mount can be adjusted and secured with the locking knob, and the angle is maintained when repositioning the arm - eliminating the need to readjust it every time the arm is moved.

The heavy-duty combo mount, consisting of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy metal desktop mount, offers options for fastening the broadcast arm onto a desktop or permanent installation with the included mounting screws. The 14-inch riser is included to add height to the arm so that it extends over computer or studio monitors.

The BAE-2X is a durable and reliable accessory for any studio or recording setup that provides secure support for your microphone along with excellent signal transfer, and won't disrupt your audio when being repositioned.

The BAE-2X is designed with external balance springs that are precision-engineered to support microphones of up to 3.6 lb. (1.6kg), and hold them in place

The integrated 15' XLR cable to connect your mic to your mixer or interface

The external balance-spring design minimizes handling noise when moving the arm

The 5/8"-27 thread of the microphone stud mount is compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips

An extension of up to 39 inches, back-to-front movement with a range of 100º, and the ability to rotate the arm 360º allow for precise microphone placement

The included 14-inch riser provides the broadcast arm with extra height and is especially useful when extending the broadcast arm over studio monitors

The combo mount consists of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy metal desktop mount. The C-clamp is capable of fastening onto desktops up to 2-inches thick. The desktop mount detaches from the C-clamp and provides the option of permanent installation to a desktop with the mounting screws (included)

The C-clamp's slim design minimizes the clearance needed to mount it between the desk and a wall

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am planning on installing the monitor arm into my desk rather then to the edge? How do I do so? also, what screws do I need as I only have the 2 that were preinstalled?

A: To install the Auray BAI-2N, you will need to remove the foam backing og the mount. This will expose 3 screws that will allow you to detach the desk clamp. The included mounting screws (4) will allow you to secure the mount to a desktop surface.

Q: 2. Is the threaded microphone mount male or female?

A: The Auray BAI-2U Two-Section Broadcast Arm with Internal Springs and Integrated USB Cable has a standard 5/8"-27 male threaded mounting point to attach a microphone.

Q: 3. Can you feed a new XLR cable to replace the cable that’s already in it?

A: Yes. A cable, without a connector may be fed through the arm, tho it would require a "snake" to push or pull the replacement cable through.

Q: 4. I notice the Auray BAI-2N mic boom arm does not include any type of cable. I checked online & the instruction manual that comes with the arm does not say how to add an XLR cable. Does anyone know what is the protocol to add a cable to the Auray BAI-2N?

A: The cable for the Auray BAI-2N mic boom arm XLR is draped over the joints of the arm. Have a look at the photos on our website and you will see how. B&H # AUBAI2N

Q: 5. Is there an alternative compatible C-CLAMP I can use with this boom arm that will clamp a 3 inch desktop?

A: Unfortunately, I don't know of any wider clamp that will be compatible with this BAI-2X arm. I would recommend using the included screws to mount permanently to the desk, rather than using the clamp.

Q: 6. What is the length of each individual arm?

A: The arm total height is 40", the first segment is 20.5" follow by a 19.5". For extra height use the riser that is included in the box that will give you a extra 14"

Q: 7. Can I run my own xlr cable through the arm? I want to use my red cables.

A: We cannot recommend disassembling the arm to do so.

Q: 8. Does this have straps for cable management? I want to strap my Shure X2U to the arm, it makes it easily accessible while keeping it out of the way.

A: Not included. These will work fine: Pearstone 0.5 x 6 Touch Fastener Straps (Black, 10-Pack)B&H # PES050610B

Q: 9. If the USB cable should stop working, can it be removed?

A: The cable is installed during fabrication and can't be removed or replaced. If you happen to experience an issue with the integrated cable for some reason, we would encourage you to contact us at info@gradusgroup.com or 212-594-2120 within the 1 year warranty term to arrange warranty service.

Q: 10. Would you say this is better than the Rode PSA1?

A: The Rode holds up to 2.4lbs and has a 32 reach. The Auray supports up to 5lbs and has a 40 reach. I would say it would really depend on your needs. Look them both over and make an informed decision.

After buying a couple of arms, then sending them back, gambled on this one. For me it is perfect! Stable, easily moved around. I have a heave Large diaphragm mic on it.....no problem. Just what I needed....worth every penny

I use this studio arm to make recording of my voice - for my YouTube videos easier. I did have to pull the cable out a little further near the end - where the mic plugs in. In order to allow the best configuration of the mic (with an isolation mount attached) without crimping the cable end - near the connector. One little note is that if you use the extension arm, make sure to have the retaining screw at the base of the mount out as much as possible - also make sure that the arm is all the way in. It might be a little difficult to know when it's all the way in, just push it in until you know for certain that it is fully inserted into the mount. (When I first set up the studio arm - while using the extension arm. I thought it was all the way in, and it wasn't - which could have caused the studio arm to fall, which would have messed up my computer)

I love that it picks my mic up off of the desk, leaving me more desk space and eliminating the need to constantly move the mic. I place my mic overhead, and it's perfect for voiceovers and Zoom calls. Good purchase at an excellent price!

It's longer and sturdier than the other arm I had. It doesn't support as much weight as some other arms out there, but it does the job just fine for me.

Sturdy and handles heavy weight microphone.
Built in cable is nice, too.
Works great with my big monitor when mounted behinds. Clears out of sight when not in use.
Excellent.

I bought this for my podcast. My co-host was able to sit comfortably and the mic was close enough for them to be easily recorded. It has many points of articulation that make it versatile and easy to position for the best placement.
