Position your lighting or camera gear where you need it with 360° rotation of the pivot arms. Maximum extension is 20".

One baby pin is threaded female 1/4ʺ-20 and the other female 3/8ʺ-16 threaded for flexibility in the type of gear you can mount.

Lock the position of the pivot arms and baby pins simply by twisting the adjustable wheel lock control. Further adjustment to the positioning of your equipment is made by altering the tension of the internal locking mechanism.

The pins at the end of each arm are capable of swiveling on their ball-and-socket joints providing extra flexibility for positioning your equipment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there any other differences between this model and the wheel lock model besides method of tension? Does one have locking or splines that would hold better than just a friction based hold?

A: The wheel lock version will allow you to crank down the knob and apply higher friction than the on/off latch will allow for.

Q: 2. Can anyone tell me if this would be solid enough to support an elinchrom rx400 flash that would be fixed on an autopole as background lightning?

A: Hi, it is tough enough to support my speedlight. The more you extend the arm the more flexible it becomes. I do not know the wieght of you elichrom but if this is about canon 600 ex weight then yes, i will recomend it.

Q: 3. This just arrived, and there is a tag on it marked Pull . Now, normally, this would simply indicate that it is a tag to be removed. However, the instructions do not mention it AND the pictures in the instructions show it in place. So... safe to remove? Price of being wrong is high -- meaning I cannot use it this weekend if I make it inoperable and need to get another one.

A: Yeah, it is strange because it the plastic goes completely around... you need to cut it off.

Q: 4. Will it hold a 1 boom arm easily or will it be too loose?

A: No, that will not work. It is designed for booms or poles that have a diameter of 1.37 inches.

Q: 5. Will this Manfrotto 196AB-2 Articulated Arm support a Atomos Shogun without batteries attached? If so, does it come with the proper screws, etc to attach to my Mafrotto N8 Fluid Video Head and tripod? Thank you.

A: This arm would not be recommended. It would be better to use one of these arms. https://bhpho.to/3bxSztP

Q: 6. I would like to use this to position a small camera for use as a web cam. Could I use a SuperClamp to mount this to a table to position the camera?

A: Yes, you may use a Super Clamp with the Manfrotto 196B-3 Articulated Arm - 3 Sections, With Bracket for your stated usage needs. Just ensure your camera has a standard 1/4"-20 female tripod socket on the bottom of the camera for use with the included bracket.

Q: 7. Will my boom work if it is 1 5/16 or 33.33 mm? It says for 35mm in the specs.

A: It should be OK as there is some capacity to tighten. You could also wrap some rubber around your boom to make the clamp grip if it was a tiny bit too small.

Q: 8. What booms or adapters do you carry that will fit this 1.37 inch clamp?

A: The Impact Tilting Boom Pivot Clamp only works with this boom a href= http://bhpho.to/1jjxsxb. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1jjxsxb./a

Q: 9. how do you use it?? I just bought it. There are no directions!

A: The user manual to the arm can be found here: https://bhpho.to/2KjwXWF

Q: 10. Will this arm work with the OC White Heavy Duty Wall Mount Base (Black ) BH #OC11426B?

A: Yes. But for better payload support we suggest the following item. Impact Wall Plate with 5/8" Locking Receiver BH #IMSRP123P • MFR #SRP-123P https://bhpho.to/3qCRKtE

This was the perfect solution for positioning my camera _exactly_ how I wanted it. Easy to adjust to any angle and I was surprised how stable it was.

The _only_ thing wrong with the Pivot Arm is that it's only 20. If you need longer, you'll have to go with something less awesome.

This pivot arm is well built and strong enough to hold most cameras, light fixtures and other stuff. It is an essential part of my studio kit and on set tool. Fairly price as well.

I was truly impressed with this pivot arm (magic arm), after years of frustration with the locking-lever type arm from a more expensive brand. The friction wheel is SO much better than the locking lever. This is strong enough to hold a small DSLR or a speedlight. I'm using it for a microphone stand -- it cost less than high-end mic boom arms and is quite a bit stronger and more versatile.
