Suitable for multi-instrument setups during live or studio gigs, the dbx DI4 is a 4-channel active direct box that balances high-impedance, unbalanced signals to drive long cables without high-end deterioration. It can also mix down the four channels to a stereo pair of RCA outputs and a headphone connector for monitoring or a quick recording session. Each channel has a level control and panning for proper balance and stereo imaging. A master volume controls the overall output level.

Q: 1. I am planning on using this as essentially an 1/8th in. to XLR adapter, then inputting to a console. What is the reason (if there is a reason) to use the LTIBLOX as opposed to using a 1/4 in. cable with an 1/8th in. adapter? Could the LTIBLOX be considered a preamp, or am I misunderstanding its primary / intended function?

A: You can use a 1/4 to 1/8 cable. But, this makes it a whole lot easier. You can easily extend this out 50-100' with an XLR, as opposed to the 6' of 1/4 cable that you would suggest. And, you don't have to worry about losing the adapter. We are a rental house, and own about 25 of these things. Its great for the group that 'just wants to plug their iPhone in for some music.

Q: 2. what cables do I need to operate a direct box?

A: You will need an XLR microphone cable to connect to your mixing board and an instrument cable with 1/4 inch connectors to connect your instrument.

Q: 3. does it require phantom power?

A: The Whirlwind DIRECTOR is used to connect line level devices to a mic input on a mixer or preamp. No phantom power is required.

Q: 4. I searched for "break-out boxes," but was hoping to find something that would facilitate 'monitoring' the charging voltage to a cell phone. Does anyone know of a better search criteria to 'dredge up' such an item?

A: The dBx BOB is a system specific product for dbx Drive Rack. Monitoring of charging voltage to a cell phone is generally less important than monitoring the current.

Q: 5. what cables are needed for direct box?

A: For most cases:(1) XLR - female to male - you would use this to connect the direct box to a sound board or some other device(1) 1/4 mono cable - you would use this cable to connect a guitar/amp/keyboard/etc. into the direct box

Q: 6. Does the mixer come with the 5 pin Euroblock connector?

A: Yes, the Cloud USA MX155 7-Channel Mic/Line Pre-Amp Mixer does include the 5-pin Euroblock connector on the back panel. You can see a photo of the back panel here: https://www.cloud.co.uk/storage/image/products/7ce71702ca1db27bfcc935753f8fc959.jpg

Q: 7. Hello, on the rear panel of the device is mentioned that power supply is 120V AC 50/60Hz but in Europe supply is 220V AC 60Hz.Can we connect this device on European power supply? Usually product that comes from USA have both 110/220V AC power supply.Thank you

A: this device has not have a switch to 220V, so i do not recomend that you connect it to a 220V.

Q: 8. What is the warranty? I have one a few years old and it's starting to have buzz issues.

A: Rolls rack mixers are covered by a limited one year warranty for parts and labor from the Manufacturer.

Q: 9. I just bought 1 of these a few days ago from you. It showed up today and the 3.5mm end is not solid black like the one in the picture? Why is it different. I really wanted the black end. Could you see if that is still available like that? Thanks

A: It is not unusual for a manufacturer to change a small non-critical production feature or cosmetic component that wouldn't affect performance. We do not have another version available.

Q: 10. Are the rack ears reversible?

A: Thank you for your question. The rack ears on the this unit are not reversible
