The 13' Drop Stand Light Stand from Savage extends from a minimum height of 47" to a maximum height of 13', offering a load capacity of 15 lb. It folds down to 45" and weighs 6 lb for easy transport. This stand features auto-extending and collapsing legs, with air cushioning for quick, secure repositioning and breaking down after a shoot. A reversible 1/4"-20 to 3/8" stud adapter is usable on either the top or side of the stand.

A: The Savage MultiFlex Light Stand (10'), B&H # SAMF10, is compatible with lights that have a standard 5/8" baby receptacle on the bottom of the light fixture or on the light fixture yoke. The standard 5/8" baby stud on the top of the light stand is also reversible, and has a 1/4"-20 male thread on one end, and a 3/8"-16 male thread on the other end, and may be used with light fixtures with the aforementioned female thread socket sizes. The light stand has a maximum load capacity of 9 lbs (4.08 kgs).

Q: 10. Are the widths adjustable? If I wanted to hang an 8x10 drop on one side and an 8x8 on the other to create a room would I be able to adjust the length to clip the 8x8 drop?

So far I'm loving these stands. They're a good balance of value for money. In my opinion, the killer feature here is simply that it's a sturdy stand that goes up to 13 feet without costing $200+. I needed something that could stand up taller than the rest of my regular stands, but didn't want to go all in on a heavier steel c-stand or combo stand. When shopping, I thought that the self-expanding/collapsing legs were kind of gimmicky, but now that I've been using these for a while I have to say I'm a fan of that feature. The first time I used these, I was in a living room with a vaulted white ceiling. I quickly realized that with my new tall stands I could just blast a light into the high, angled ceiling and fill the whole room. 5

Owned this stand for 6 months. I purchased the 13 ft stand specially for my FJ400. In my career, the wind has knocked over cheaper stands (with sand bags), and it falls has broken modifiers. I've brought this stand with me to locations in nature. Once I extended the legs to go wider, this stand is so durable. I've used it in multiple locations with uneven ground, and it's securely kept my FJ400+modifers safe (with sand bags). I love how easy it is to move around. I've used this stand for weddings, large group photo shoots, and portraits. I just purchased the smaller 7 ft stand! 5
