The 1 RU 12 x 1 3G-SDI Video Routing Switcher from Matrix Switch has 12 inputs and one output. It provides re-clocking for standard 3G/HD/SD rates with automatic bypass for non-standard rates between 20 Mb/s and 3 Gb/s and passes all SDI embedded audio/ancillary data. The switcher supports output mute. Switching on vertical sync is provided with the sync reference input with a pass-through connector and provides support for tri-level sync and NTSC/PAL black burst signals. With four BNCs per SDI output on this switcher, the need for additional distribution amplifiers is often eliminated.

The routing switcher provides several options for control and system integration. Built-in webpage interface offers a convenient method for control and configuration using a PC or mobile device (Interactive Demo). In addition to the MASCOT protocol, there is also support for some common 3rd party protocols.

Additional control interfaces on this router include USB, RS-485, RS-232, and TCP/IP over the Ethernet interface. Remote Panels can also be used with this router for remote control up to a virtually unlimited distance over TCP/IP. In addition, the built-in button panel provides an additional interface for directly changing the matrix routing state.

A: When in switcher mode you would not have access to the Multiview output of the AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher. It would not be used as a multiviewer if you are using it in switcher mode.

Q: 4. Does this support combining audio streams from multiple sources and outputting over a single output?

A: You are able to route audio signals from the HDMI inputs to the HDMI outputs on the Kramer 8x4 4K Matrix. However, it will not mix audio signals from several inputs to one output.

Q: 5. How do you input and configure tally into the unit? I don't seem to see a gpi unit anywhere so is it TSL?

A: The AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher (1 RU) does not have tally light support.

I use it as an extra monitor when filming on location, and in the editing as well work with batteries and that is good to Not so good, the small SDI connections 5

We purchased two of these to use as frame & focus monitors for our Panasonic HPX370 cameras and so far are absolutely loving them. They allow us to record the raw footage off each camera for less than the cost of a P2 memory card and provide a nice frame & focus monitor too. We use these units in a church environment and the user interface was easy for our volunteers to figure out. We are using them with the HD-SDI input, 256GB SDHC cards, and the Nebtek 4-pin Lemo to DC power cords and absolutely love them. The build quality, screen resolution, and ease of use are all excellent. 5

This was the first recorder I bought many years ago. Just recently bought a NINJA as a backup recorder, mostly because of the price and all the hype. When I used the ninja for the first time it started to overheat after 1 hours of recording, the unit was getting hot to the touch. Then when I stopped the recording after 2 hours the file was corrupt. After using it one time I returned it and bought another Blackmagic Video Assist. Ninja was completely useless to me for LEGAL VIDEO the Ninja also feels like plastic and has a very short power cable.� The Blackmagic is solid and a perfect for LEGAL VIDEO. 5

This is an amazing monitor, chock full of great features. The screen is super-sharp, which gives us a leg up on camera focus, and the focus assist utility is amazing. Having both SDI and HDMI options gives us much needed flexibility, and the onboard SD card recording capability is a huge win. 5

This little thing is super awesome! its not very bright, and i wish it had a lower codec like h.264. but it does its job and is simple and cheap! Also I hope they come out with a p-tap power option, that would be nice.. 5

I bought this as a way to get a good peaking focus checking device for my 1. News camera -Panasonic 370, and 2. My 5D II. I can say I am super happy with it, easy to use and works like I expected. Bonus! I can also record video to an SD card (I don't use often to care). It does have a tiny green touch to the color and but I love it and set my color manually. 5
