Helping to balance exposure when working in high-contrast situations, the 150 x 170mmMedium Graduated ND Filter from LEE Filters is specifically designed to selectively control brightness in difficult lighting. The filter's design places the 0.6, 2-stop density at the top of the filter and then transitions to clear by the center of the filter for a gradual, natural appearance. The medium-edge transition between the density and clear areas is well-suited for photographing scenes with an apparent but not rigid horizon line, such as when mountains or trees protrude into the sky. This filter is constructed from optical resin that is both durable and helps to maintain high clarity, and is compatible with the LEE SW150 filter holder.

Graduated neutral density places the most density at the edge of the filter and tapers to clear by the center of the filter in order to accommodate photographing scenes with large bright areas, such as a daytime sky.

Medium-edge transition between density and clear portions of the filter is suitable for photographing scenes with an apparent, but indistinct horizon or line between light and shadow, such as when rooftops, mountains, or trees protrude into the sky.

Neutral density 0.6 provides a 2-stop reduction in light in selective areas.

Constructed from optical resin for overall clarity and durability.

Compatible for use with the LEE SW150 filter holder.

Included filter pouch protects the filter when not in use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this fit a Nikon nikkor 35km 1.8 and if so what accessories do I need to purchase with this filter?

A: yes with the Lee 100mm filter holder kit, go to 'Lee 100mm filter' on the internet and the site will show you everything you will need. I think B&H carries them.Regards...

Q: 2. I currently have a sony A7r with a Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens. Is this filter compatible with the lens I am using? Are there any kits or adapters I need as well? Thanks!

A: Hi Christian, Yes, it will work, you'll just need a 72mm adapter for whatever filter holder you're using. My recommendation is a Lee Filter holder and a 72mm lens filter adapter. If you have a lens that takes a larger filter size, say a 77mm, then I'd get a 77mm adapter and a 77mm to 72mm step down ring. That way you don't have too many adapters. Hope this helps.mick

Q: 3. Does this filter have a gasket on it's backside to help with light leakage?

A: Yes it does

Q: 4. Would these filters fit the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens?

A: The specs for this lens, as listed at B&H, show a 77mm front thread. Get a Lee, or similar, 4x4 or 100x100mm filter holder and a 77mm wide angle adapter and it should physically fit. With this wide of a lens, I don't know how much vignetting you will get.

Q: 5. Do you see a blue or magenta tint with this filter?

A: Yes. That is true. I get blue tint with it. But if you shoot in RAW this can easily be corrected in post processing later.

Q: 6. Would this work with the nikkor 24-70 2.8?

A: Yes sir I think work with 24-70 and adapter ring 77mm for sure

Q: 7. Will this filter fit into the 4 x4, 4 x6 Lee filter hollder?

A: This is designed for the Lee Filter 150 System and the Mark II version which has a Lightguard in the II system that did not exist in the I version. I have the Mark II Holder sand have no problems with this filter used in it. Mixing and matching mfrs is not always a good idea.

Q: 8. Is this a screw- on ND filter?

A: Yes, the Lee 72mm Elements Variable ND filter is a screw-on filter.

Q: 9. Will this filter work with the NiSi 150mm holder?

A: Yes the LEE Filters 150 x 150mm SW150 Solar Stopper will fit in a Nisi 150mm holder.

Q: 10. Can I use this filter for the eclipse? If so, does it need an adapter?

A: Technically, yes, you could use it, but the sun will may likely still be overexposed. To get a properly exposed sun, you need a special solar eclipse filter that is far darker. Even with the solar eclipse filter, never use the optical view finder to frame the shot and always wear specialized solar eclipse glasses.
