This 2-stop, 7.9 x 10.2" FotodioX Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter is designed for use with the WonderPana 80 and FreeArc XL filter holder systems. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image, making a useful filter for photographing landscapes with sky and and horizon. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 2-stop reduction in light from entering a lens. This filter is made of durable, CR39 optical resin and measures 4mm thick. A carrying pouch is also included with the filter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the frame be removed for it to fit in another brand filter holder? I currently have Lee system. If so, could it be reinstalled at a future date if needed?

A: The K series holder can fit other brands of filters that are 100mm wide and 2mm thick.

Q: 2. What is the thread pitch for this product 60 X .75? Are these external threads? Thanks

A: The B+W 60mm 0.6 ND MRC 102M Filter has a 0.75mm pitch which is standard for many filters.

Q: 3. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: Not for the intermediary stops.

Q: 4. How is the image quality of this filter glass in comparison to LEE filter glass?

A: The image quality of the FotodioX 186mm Slim ND 3.0 Filter (10-Stop) is neutral, and will not get in the way of the sharpness or colorization of the lens it is mounted to. The Lee filters are not available in a circular 186mm.

Q: 5. I have a vivitar 0.43x wide angle filter that accepts 62mm filter threads. I'm considering getting this Bower 62mm Variable ND filter and a 58-62 step up ring so I can use it on both the wide angle filter and my Canon G40's lens. My question is; would there be any amount of vignetting that would render the use of the ND filter on the wide angle filter pointless? How much of a vignette should I expect?

A: I can confirm what Roland said, this filter becomes unusable at its maximum/darkest setting. Roll it back just a bit and it's fine, but do keep that in mind.

Q: 6. does this work for the tokina 16-28mm pro system?

A: This filter will not work with a Tokina 16-28mm pro. We do have special filter holders for that lens. https://bhpho.to/2WkRXmt

Q: 7. Hi, do you know if I could couple this filter on the Freewell quick swap system? I have the Freewell magnetic filter kit but they discontinued their revers grad filter.

A: Although both systems are magnetic, they have not been tested with one another to our knowledge. Your results may vary.

Q: 8. Can you stack this filters?

A: I stack the filter with the Fotoiox Polorizer on my Nikkoe 14-24 f 2.8 with no issues.

Q: 9. How does this attach to the phone? I have a clip on ND I'm not happy with since it has light leaking in.

A: The Kase ND64 6-Stop ND Filter for Smartphones BH #KA1117130001 would come with a stick on L-Shaped Magnetic Adapter that is semi-permanent adhesive.

Q: 10. Does it have front threads? Does it have hard stops?

A: Okko 82mm Variable Neutral Density Filter (1 to 9 Stop) do not have a front threads or hard stops.
