Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use it to input coaxial SPDIF signal into my computer?

A: No. SPDIF is a digital audio signal, therefore would not be a signal that a computer would recognize.

Q: 2. Can i hook this to an amp and powered subwoofer at tbe same time

A: It depends on the powered sub woofer. The DAC has just stereo left an right outputs, so it really does not behave like an A/V receiver that has a dedicated sub out. Rather, you would use a powered sub that has full-range left and right inputs, which would pass through the internal crossover, which is typically variable, and then pass thru a full range l/r signal output that you can then feed to your amp,

Q: 3. How long is the USB cable included and is it USB-C?

A: The cable is about 12 inches long and compatible with any USB port, including USB-C.

Q: 4. Will the unit work as an amp and dac while overriding my IPod Classics internal dac and amp?

A: The Apogee Groove is designed to connect via USB to a MAC or PC computer. Not compatible with portable devices such as iPods or other similar devices.

Q: 5. Does this come with a power adapter?

A: No

Q: 6. Will this work with Cambridge Audio DACmagic 200 over coax?

A: Yes, the GeerFab Audio D.BOB (Digital Breakout Box) could feed the S/PDIF Co-axial input of the DacMagic 200M Digital to Analogue Converter from its own S/PDIF Co-axial output connection.

Q: 7. Does this device require additional amplification prior to the main amp?

A: The Korg DS-DAC-10R 1-Bit USB Digital-to-Audio Converter would not require any additional amplification.

Q: 8. Will this be iPhone compatible?

A: We would recommend the Fostex HP-P1 for use with iPhone.

Q: 9. Will KORG DS-DAC-100m Mobile 1Bit USB-DAC work effectively with zoom?

A: Yes, but there are a few steps you will need to go through first since the Korg DS-DAC-100m is for converting recorded WAV and MP3 audio files to DSD. The combined audio and video from a Zoom meeting is saved as MP4 format and the audio only is saved as M4A format. You would need to convert the Zoom files from M4A to either MP3 or WAV first and then you will be able to use the DS-DAC-100m to convert the recorded audio files to DSD.

Q: 10. The quality of the controller is not very good. There are points where you face sudden changes of the volume. Is this normal? Can I use a different controller with my CR8S subwoofer?

A: Unfortunately not, other controllers do not work with the Mackie subwoofer.

Drives my Grado RS1e reference headphones like an amp that cost multiple times the cost of the Apogee. My appreciation to Apogee for delivering an exceptional product.

Very easy setup and it sounds great. Been using mine for a week now with the Sennheiser 650's and it's a great combo. Very detailed yet smooth sound. We come a long way with technology over the last decade in pro audio. To get this type a sound 10 years ago you would of had to spend around a $1000 for a headphone amp/DAC combo and it wouldn't of even been portable.

Got this amp to use with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 ohm headphones. Tried some other lower powered amps but this one really works a lot better. A note that this does come with a USB-C included for use in MacBooks. When I bought it, that wasn't listed.

Okay so first off this product runs around $+ and when first being released to the U.S. it was going for a typical $. Now, I will be honest I have seen B&H but never actually purchased anything from their site...wow boy should I have. I found this for $ less than the best price, but it does not end there. No, it was paired with a free headphone that is priced out $-$ and is considered one of the best in it's price range, the Shure 440 monitor headphones. So I get around + dollars worth of audio gear for the price of $, um sound good? ... Yes! it definitely does, and I am now currently trying out each of my headphones accordingly, because the external DAC I was using before this, AMB Gamma 1 Lite, was a good DAC for a older DIY model. It was only able to produce playback at 16bit and 48khz resolution, basically mastered CD quality. Now for a starting DAC(Digital to analog converter) it is very nice, but even with the first couple of minutes and without burning in the Fostex I could tell this is some of the best money I spent this year. Now, if all of this was not enough to sell you on this purchase, on top of this they offered free shipping.... and I got this device 24hours later from the initial order. Fantastic product! fantastic DEAL!, Fantastic bonus headphone!, and Fantastic store! I will definitely be adding B&H to my top 5 list for stores I check when ordering audio and computer equipment.
