$3,885.00 $5,827.50

Designed specifically for Questar telescopes, but similar to their standard Quark, Daystar Filters' Questar Quark H-Alpha Eyepiece Solar Filter is outfitted with Questar-specific eyepiece and rear port threads to install quickly and easily, without adapters, directly into your OTA.

This all-in-one hydrogen-alpha filter is engineered to eliminate unnecessary components which reduced the size and weight, and enabled it to fit in a compact form factor that simply threads onto either port and accepts standard 1.25" eyepieces. It is tuned specifically for viewing chromosphere details. The chromosphere's surface structure behaves differently in active regions than quiet areas, where magnetic field lines are stronger, so viewing this portion of the sun provides a constantly-changing observational.

While there are no OTA aperture limitations, Daystar recommends the use of front-mount aperture-reducing off-axis energy rejection filters. The filter is powered via a micro-USB port, and Daystar includes a power cord and an AC adapter to meet the high-power requirements of 5 VDC 1.5A. To enable its use at home and abroad, a set of international outlet plugs is provided with adapters for the US, UK, EU, and Australia.

Q: 3. Looking at the video, there does not appear to be any filter in front on the front element on the telephoto lense. Wouldn't you have to have a solar filter in front to keep from damaging the internal components of the telephoto lens? Should you use a Mylar solar sheet like I normally use for telephoto sun pictures.

A: You are right,it is called ERF(energy reflecting filter). I have ordered one with my Ha filter Aug 3 but has not arrived. So haven't been able to used the Ha filter.

Q: 4. So if you're going to use it on a Canon R6 you'd need two adaptors?
