The Pelican 1560TP Case with TrekPak Divider System (Black) is a durable, watertight, airtight, dust-proof, chemical-resistant and corrosion-proof hard case used to carry any kind of equipment that needs to be protected from the elements. It is made of ultra-high impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. It has a 0.25" (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring, two easy-open double throw latches that seal perfectly. It has a built-in, automatic pressure equalization valve for changes in altitude or temperature. The case uses stainless steel hardware and has padlock protectors to provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft. It is carried by a comfortable rubber over-molded top and side handles, retractable pull extension handle and built-in wheels.

Besides being lighter than traditional padded dividers, the TrekPak Divider System and uses pre-installed wall sections, divider panels, locking pins, and an easy-to-use cutting tool. Simply lay your gear in the case, measure and cut the divider sections, and lock them in place with the steel U-pins. Extra divider material is included for occasions where your equipment requirements vary. 7/16" thick divider sections are made of waterproof, closed cell foam that is laminated to a rigid, corrugated plastic panel that resists tearing and shredding. The TrekPak is combined with 1" bottom foam and lid foam to give your gear 360-degree protection. The 1560 case is NATO-codified and tested to IP-67 (Ingress Protection)and Def Stan 81-41/STANAG 4280 requirements.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can you lock it?

A: Yes, it is lockable. It has steel liners on the two locking locations. Remember to use a TSA approved lock if you fly with it. This case will last you your lifetime. I have 3 pelicans cases and they are great.

Q: 2. I have a 1650 with the padded dividers and a foam lid. Are the dividers sufficient to pad camera bodies and lenses if I check the case when I fly?

A: Richard: My personal opinion is yes. That being said I also have each lens stored in a lens pouch (LensCoat brand) for added protection. Additionally, while I've flown with my equipment I've never checked it. I do have a 1510 which is carry-on approved and have flown with it. It's amazing how much you can pack in that case. I packed two Canon 5D MIIIs, two battery grips, 70-200, 85, 100, 24-70, & 16-35. Also had assorted other accessories in the case too. Hope my response is helpful.

Q: 3. I noticed that when I put my dslr in the pelican 1560 (using padded dividers) there is a lot of empty space on top of the camera between it and the padded lid. Won't the camera bounce up and down when I'm moving the case or wheeling it around? Won't that damage the camera?

A: I've never had a problem with cameras bouncing. If your worried about it you can shove foam, bubble wrap, or other gear in the void to prevent shifting. You could also just move the velcro spacers tighter together so that your camera fits snug enough to prevent any shifting.

Q: 4. I have a sony hxr-mc2000u. Would this case fit comfortably?

A: Yes this case will fit your camera. Might be just a little snug. The Interior Dimensions of this model is 20.37 x 15.43 x 9.0 (WXDXH), and your camera is 10 x 18 x 9.1 . You should be fine. Plus the foam on the lid section will cushion and protect the camera

Q: 5. Will it fit a phantom 4 with all the accessories?

A: I just looked up the specs and based on what I found I think it would barely fit the drone by itself. I would recommend the pelican 1560 instead as it should comfortably fit both the phantom 4 and any extras you need.

Q: 6. The dividers in the photo kinda look brownish. Is that the color that comes with the yellow Pelican cases or does it come with the nice black dividers that is the standard color on all pelican case dividers?

A: mine are black

Q: 7. I purchased this unit about a year ago. I use it to store my equipment. My question is as follows. The place where I keep the unit is on the other side of the wall of the bathroom. There are heating pipes not far away and they too are behind a wall and under the floor. The relative humidity is about 70% most of the time, and there is little air movement ( I have boxes near and around the pelican). I do not live in a very high humidity location (Canada), and I rarely open the storage unit. I also never take my equipment out in rainy or cold days and I wipe off the equipment with a towel and blow brush after each use. Do I risk mold and mildew on my equipment based upon the above noted information? I understand that that this pelican is air and water tight. Should I be concerned? Thanks.

A: There should be no issue with the gear inside the Pelican but you can also add silica gel to be certain.

Q: 8. Why is the silver 1564 case less money than the other colors ?

A: Supply and demand. I have both silver and black 1560 cases and both are same pelican quality.

Q: 9. Can this be a carry on in a plane?

A: I've carried it on an international flight and had no problem, it fit overhead just fine. That being said, it is exactly the same size as the little frames they use to check the size of carry on and won't actually fit into it. So it is possible you could get some overzealous agent who wouldn't allow it.

Q: 10. does Pelican 1560 series meets FAA Carry On regulation ??! ... i'm considering 1560 series because it's have more room compared with 1510 series to fit all my gears ...

A: The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag). Anything larger should be checked. No oversize packages or luggage can be stowed onboard. The total for this Pelican is 50.4 per my in-head calculation. On big jets you might get lucky. On small connection planes even bags that come under FAA regulation carry on dimensions may not fit. Best solution is to note the actual model of plane that you book for each flight and cross reference that particular aircraft's overhead bin dimensions. It's better to use a Pelican even if it gets pulled from you prior to boarding--if you purchase a soft case and it gets pulled, you lack the hard case protection. Stipulations for compensation due to damage during transportation stress that materials must be in a hard case, and for items in soft cases airlines will categorically deny you compensation.

It's pretty much bombproof. Holds my 7D, T3i, four lenses, flash, ring light, batteries, chargers, etc. Tons of room and totally durable.

We just had our truck broken into and were cleaned out of all of our electronic equipement we use for business. I decided I needed something that didn't look like a computer or camera bag but can withstand being tossed around in the back of a truck cab, safe on a work site, can be locked and teathered to something secure to avoid a grab and go. The partitions made it great to fit a portable printer, 10 laptop, digital camera, extra lenses and all cables and accessories.

I travel between cities in my SUV and like to pack all my gear well and in easy reach. But this bag is so good and spacious that I can fit all my gear ( 3 zooms, 4 prime lenses, 1 PC lens, 2 d800's, 2 nikon flashes, one battery grip, assorted filters, 5 batteries, recharger memory cards) plus my laptop, that I use it to have it all well stored in my studio .

Excellent case. Of course, whenever I want protect AND carry my equipment, I go with Pelican. You can't go wrong with these things, they are tanks. The 1560 is the perfect size for my AG-AC130, batteries, charger, and accesories. The one drawback was that it fit the camera perfectly sitting up in the foam (handle on top to grab) butI have to de-tach the microphone holder that is normally screwed onto the camera with 2 tiny philips screws. Not a big deal, I just need to budget the extra 2 minutes to set-up and breakdown that piece. Other than that, it is a perfect fit.

This thing is worth the money. It fits all of my gear and protects it very well. I dropped the case with all my gear in it when I was taking it out of my car and no damage! And with it warranty on parts you cant go wrong. I recommend it 100% to anyone looking for a storage case.
