Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, does this work in a 4x4 mini Rolleiflex? thank you very much!

A: As long as your Rolleiflex is the one that is made for 127 format film, the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) should work. Note there are a few versions of that camera that uses 220 and 120mm film.

Q: 2. What fixer is recommended to be used with this film? Will TF4 work good with it?

A: I use Kodak fixer or Kodafix...I always use a hardening fixer after too many scratched negatives using rapid fixers (I mean geez, it only adds a minute to the film processing time, so rapid fixer isn't that rapid IMO)

Q: 3. how many exposures??

A: It would be dependent on the camera, though 120 film, like the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film), may have up to 10-16 exposures.

Q: 4. I am new to this. How can I tell which side I should expose for the picture? I keep guessing wrong and getting black pictures.

A: The Arista EDU Ultra VC RC Paper (Pearl, 5 x 7", 250 Sheets) is only coated on one side, and that is the side to use.

Q: 5. how many rolls of film come in the box?

A: There is one roll of film in the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) box.

Q: 6. Does this film have perforations? The description does not say one way or another.

A: Yes, this film does contain perforations.

Q: 7. where is the reciprocity data for this film?

A: The manufacture does not list the reciprocity on the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (4 x 5", 50 Sheets). But a customer says he has for exposures longer than 1 second, he raises the exposure in seconds to the power 1.28. Bit best is to to a lot of experimenting on that.

Q: 8. can clayton f76 film developer work with this film?

A: The manufacturer says f76 is for all black and white films, so I don't see why not. Personally, I use Caffenol.

Q: 9. I reside outside the US, do customs x-rays affect the film?

A: It is best to ask airport security to hand check film. However, since the Arista EDU Ultra 100 Black and White Negative Film is ISO 100, it should not be an issue.

Q: 10. how many exposures do i get out of one roll of this film?

A: Having used this film for a while now, I'm happy with it...however, the number of exposures per roll depends on your camera. The most popular negative size is 6x6cm, or 60mm square. In which case, you will get 12 frames per roll. Next is 6x4.5cm (also known as 645 where the frame is higher than it is wide, in which case you will get 16. Then, there's 6x9cm, where you will get 8 exposures per roll. This applies to ALL 120 film. If your camera is equipped to use 220 film, you will get twice the number of exposures per roll, although the film is still about 62mm wide, it is twice the length, around 6 feet. Hope this answers your question!
