A: Yes, this is SMPTE-424M which should be both Level A and B-DL.

A: 1k tone across all 8 channels. I do wish it had the option for a vocal channel ID across all channels....

A: the SDI is Level A

A: This unit is rated for 6 miles / 9.6 km. Since 80km is almost 50 miles, this is not your answer.

Q: 6. What Sony batteries fit the supplied plate?

A: This product will use the standard NP-F style of battery. A nice option is B&H #WANPF770 which is a Watson NP-F770.

Q: 7. What connections does this support and what is the main difference between this and the X_Neo I?

A: We're afraid not. Metadata is not supported with this product.
