Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this product include a docking bracket?

A: no this does NOT include the docking bracket

Q: 2. May I please know if the a 15 arm is compatible to other brand like the glidecam steady cam but not a tiffen sled?thank you so much

A: The Aero 15 is only compatible with Steadicam Stabilizers. It will not work with a Glidecam system. There are however arm and vest systems that will work with Glidecam stabilizers such as the X-10 Dual Support Arm Stabilizer Vest System, B&H # GLX10. For help finding the right vest for your stabilizer please email us directly at askbh@bandh.com.https://bhpho.to/2lVgxbh

Q: 3. I trying to fly my Sony a7r2 can I get the aero with v lock battery? Recommendations?

A: BH #STAHDVL15, which is the model with a V-Mount Battery, should work well with an A7RII.

Q: 4. How do I use a camera that has only HDMI with this rig?

A: While the cable on the top that connects to the monitor is SDI, the monitor itself also has an HDMI input as well. You would just need to run a separate HDMI cable from the camera to the monitor in that case.

Q: 5. Can I use a Canon C300 Markii on this rig?

A: This supports up to 10 lb Payload. Just as long as you keep the build of your C300 Mark II to under 10 pounds, it will work.

Q: 6. If I use my Sony A7SII, what cable do I need to use to be able to connect through the sled to send the signal to the on board monitor? or if it's included already?

A: You would need a DC powered converter box that converts HDMI to HD/SDI BNC. Operators will usually Velcro a converter box underneath the top stage and power it with the Steadicam D-Tap to 2.1mm DC power cable item # 815-0104. The Aero has 1x BNC video input connector and 1x D-Tap power output on the top stage.

Q: 7. What is the size of the post that connects to the sled? 1/2", 5/8", or 3/4"?

A: The Post size on the Areo models is as follows- 1/2" Basic Docking Bracket = Standard with AERO-15 1/2" Deluxe Docking Bracket = Standard with AERO-30

Q: 8. Would the vest fit a large man??

A: The Solo Vest has the capability to adjust for a wide range of body sizes from a small child up to a 250 lb person.Click on this link for more information on the Solo Vest and Arm -a href= http://www.tiffen.com/userimages2/Steadicam/dhi-TTC%20Solo%20Arm%20%26%20Vest%20Box%20Label%20v1.9.pdfq target= _blank http://www.tiffen.com/userimages2/Steadicam/dhi-TTC%20Solo%20Arm%20%26%20Vest%20Box%20Label%20v1.9.pdfq/a

Q: 9. How tall is the Aero sled?

A: Sled height is adjustable from 22.5 to 35.5 inches. For more information please visit this link -a href= http://tiffen.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/STEADICAM-AERO-PRODUCT-SPECIFICATIONS.pdf target= _blank http://tiffen.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/STEADICAM-AERO-PRODUCT-SPECIFICATIONS.pdf/a

Q: 10. Also, can this fly with bigger camera like FS5/FS7 or Canon c200 or Ursa mini? or should I go for Aero 30 system? but my own camera is A7S II, will be greta if anyone has experience can help, cheers

A: The Aero 15 arm/vest has a payload capacity of 15lbs including the sled/battery. This means that your camera payload should stay below 8-10lbs in most cases. if your camera payload exceeds this weight, you should look at the Aero 30 which has a weight capacity of 30lbs.

I bought this for my canon cinema camera. First camera stabilizer I’ve bought and used after doing tons of research online. A very solid confident build.

Great Product! After about a week of use, I already feel pretty confident with it and it works great. The balancing system is super fast and easy to use.

I've always used a gimbal which is great 70% of the time, but at times I've needed to mitigate deliberate camera shake (subtle footsteps/etc) to help evoke a certain type of emotion and element to a scene, which allows for a more organic/cinematic experience.
The FLYCAM gracefully allows this to happen.
My Run&Gun setup is a Panasonic GH5/SmallRig Cage/Rode VideoMicro, and it's practically on my FLYCAM fulltime.
I lean it in the corner, and when I look at it, I'm eager to pick it up and go on another film adventure.
Solid/rugged, high quality & smooth. No complaints.
$200 for this product makes sense, and delivers...I don't know why somebody would spend $800 on a competitor brand, unnecessary.

FLYCAM nailed it.

I've read the complaints from other reviewers and it's embarrassing, cringeworthy. It's not heavy, lol...it's a Steadicam. Grow up, and learn how to be a skilled, high-caliber Videographer/Cinematographer, and take pride in your adaptive ability.

I didn't expect this to work as good as I read about in the other reviews, but for the price, I figured it would be a good investment for an entry level investment. I literally tried to find something wrong with the flycam that would keep me from giving it a 5 star rating, but couldn't find anything. After setting it up and trying it out, it worked as advertised. It kept the camera real steady.
The only suggestion I would make, and I hope the company that made the flycam is listening, would also make a tripod head as an accessory so that it can be used back and forth as needed on a tripod with the quick release plate. Even though the flycam quick release plate is compatible with the Manfrotto 501 tripod head, I just don't happen to have a 501 tripod head. That being said, if you have a heavy camera attached to it, your arm will tire out quickly. I overcame that problem by purchasing a flycam vest support and that solved that problem. The flycam appears to be well built and is relatively easy to set up. The many videos on how to set it up on YouTube is a big help also in setting up. For the price, it is well worth it. I recommend it highly.

With the weight of the camera PLUS the stabilizer the unit was too heavy for me to handle. I'm a 5'5 100 lb. female, BTW.

This flycam works very well. There is a learning curve but that's the case with even the Glidecams which are twice the price.

I have used it a few times and for the money the build quality is extremely good. Not sure why you spend the extra money on a glidecam.

Pros: For the price, you'll be hardpressed to find any stabilizer that is this well built and performs on par with stabilizers twice to four times its cost. The adjusting the head is simple with two screws controlling forwards, back, left and right.

Cons. This is a seriously heavy system- even with a gh4, 18-35 setup. This isn't an issue personally but it is something to consider if you are going to be spending a lot of time using this.
