The Mini-9RL Multi Battery Tester from ZTS is a microprocessor-controlled instrument that quickly lets you check a battery's remaining power capacity using a fully automatic, pulse load test. It takes roughly two seconds, and the percentage of remaining capacity will be indicated on the LED display.

Battery types are clearly labeled next to appropriate contacts and this tester works with over 12 different batteries, including NiMH, lithium, lithium-ion, alkaline, and more. The unit runs on four AAA batteries and features a probe and lead wire, which conveniently stores away in the seam.

A: No, this tester only tells you battery charge and how it reacts to a load, it does not tell you the longevity of the battery.

A: I did not purchase this unit, I bought the lower unit dedicated to analog audio. Your answer may be best answered by the manufacturer. On my balanced audio cables it does not test the shield.

A: The MINI-MBT can test CR123, CR, and 18650 style batteries while the MINI-9RL cannot.

A: Yes; the ZTS Mini Multi-Battery Tester tests both 1.5v alkaline AA batteries as well as 1.2v nickel metal hydride (NiMH) or nickel cadmium (NiCd) AA rechargeable batteries.

Q: 9. Does the tone generator send the tones on all of the connectors, including the RJ45? Can one use an inductive probe to trace wires with the generated tones?

A: Yes it sends a tone on RJ45. The tone is only to signal 1st line as it cycles through the 8 lines of ethernet cable. The additional continuity is tested using the 8 led's

A: This tester has 5 LED to show battery capacity left in 20% increments.

I've had this battery tester for at least 3 years and use it often. The one I have may be an older version of the ZTS, but it looks the same, just a slightly different layout. This is an exellent home battery tester. No more guessing. I don't remember paying as much as it now cost, but knowing why I know now I would not hesitate to pay the new price. There is one problem: what do you do with used batteries that are 80%? I have a box full of batteries that are 80%. I have found not much works at 80%. I would very highly recommend the ZTS battery tester. 5

I bought this battery tester to keep track of the level of my batteries. Because I have 5 flashes, and 4 radio triggers, it is important for me to know how much life I will have during my photo shooting, before I need to change batteries / need to recharge. I'm glad that it undertakes an accurate test (using load on the battery) - so I can tell if the batteries are 10%, 20%, 40%, 80% or 100% (full). While it would be ideal to know the exact percentage (e.g. 67% or 4%), it's not strictly necessary for AA batteries in a flash / radio trigger (whereas for a camera itself, that's more crucial). This product is easy to use, very portable, accurate and fast. I'm glad it allows testing, and distinguishes between various batteries e.g. 1.2v NiMH vs 1.5 Alkalines, etc. Five stars for this product. 5

This is the perfect tool to verify I have strong batteries before heading out on a job. Testers I've used before were either insanely cheap or inaccurate or both. This is accurate and actually puts a load on the tested battery, so it's not just testing for residual power. I'm a photographer not an electrical engineer. I need something to quickly and easily tell me my battery is good or bad. This does. 5

We use rechargeable batteries for wireless microphones in a university class setting. After the pandemic lockdown, a lot of our batteries were fried from sitting on the charger for a year and half, and this tester was wonderful for identifying batteries that went bad and those that didn't. I'm so protective of this now, I won't even let someone borrow it. A little pricey, but it's worth it. 5

Using a flash trigger on location that has NO battery indicator, this tester is EXTREMELY useful and accurate at indicating the remaining life in batteries. With 60 AA batteries in my travel kit, this tester saves a TON of guess work! 5
