Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there an adapter to run off the dTap of my Sony 500??

A: My XDCAM has a USB port that powers the Aladdin. Im not sure if there is a DTap

Q: 2. Would a couple of these lights work in a small video studio? They would be hanging from a small truss mounted between two walls. Thanks.

A: These are 200w LED so they are rather powerful. It would largely be dependent on the types of shoots and the outcome expected. Its possible they would work.

Q: 3. Does it come with any kind of diffusion filter?

A: No. Just the light and a lanyard. Maybe a charge cable, I can't remember (it's a simple micro USB charging jack, you probably already have such a cable) However, let it be known that the swatches from a Lee or Rosco gel swatchbook fit this light perfectly, so attach whichever diffusion you like with a bit of clear double stick tape. However, It's such a physically small source, diffusion the same size of the unit is not really going to soften the light noticeably, for that you would need a larger piece of diffusion. Still, since I use this eyelight for just a bit of, yes, eyelight sparkle, I find that diffusion is Not needed as long as the light is kept on axis with the lens, where sharp shadows don't give it away. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. How long does the battery last? Also, do diffusion panels come with the lights?

A: The integrated lithium-ion battery can last for up to two hours and diffusion is included with the light.

Q: 5. how can I mount this on my camera, is BH sell that part?

A: It has a 1/4-20 threaded mount and you can use a variety of mounts. Here are two from Aladdin. Aladdin Shoe Mount with 1/4 -20 Screw B&H # AL02SHOE and the Aladdin Ball Head Clamp with 1/4-20 Screw for Eyelite, A-Lite or Bi-Flex1 B&H # ALFL40CLPPBH.

Q: 6. Does this model have the side compartment latch to switch out the batteries?

A: I purchased one from B&H and it did NOT have a latch. and the screws are not standard philips apparently

Q: 7. Can one of the lights be use as key light and the other as fill light? Sorry, but I'm new to this.

A: Yes, a end-user must be mindful that the units are good up to 1 meter anything more we suggest looking into cob lighting units. for more assistance please contact our live chat team.

Q: 8. Does this come with a dimmer and power supply?

A: This would be the LED panel alone. The Aladdin Bi-Flex1 Bi-Color Kit B&H # ALAM50BIKIT would include the panel with the dimmer and power supply. Please see the image below.

Q: 9. How many Lumens does it has?

A: Lumens is not measured by Aladdin for the A-Lite. This chart is a good overview of brightness https://bit.ly/3KjKSbN

Q: 10. What is exactly included with this item? I have a feeling there may be more or less than listed.

A: This is only the LED mat without a power supply, dimmer or mounting hardware.

Ordered this after watching a few video reviews and I have to say that I'm very happy with the lights. I also ordered some V Mount batteries and they last forever with these lights. So far I've used them to capture some photos on location and used them as key and fill for a green screen shoot. I love the ability to be able to match existing lighting conditions with the variable white balance. They seem sturdily constructed and arrived in a timely manner in a well packed box. If you're looking for a high quality affordable light kit, look no further!

I've used several brands of LEDs before and the GVM LT100S ranks right up there with the more expensive brands. Like most people's reviews, the housing around the lights is a hard plastic but seems fairly durable. The fan kicks on around 39% and you can hear it. It's best to keep any mics away from them if you don't want to have to clean the fan noise up in post. But other than that it's not a show stopper. The app is pretty straight forward to control the intensity and temperature. I did notice that when turning the lights off with the app and turning them back on I think I lost the Master/Slave mode and had to reset it manually on the lights. The lights are super bright at 50% so much so that you probably need some diffusion over them so that you won't blind your subject.

You could use this as a key if you were doing an interview, but I use it as a bounce fill. Great price.

This light are excellent for photography & videography, you can set the light the way you want it, if you are looking for Expensive and metal light, don’t buy this light, they are made of plastic. But as long they do the job well that’s the only thing it matters to me.

I'm extremely impressed with this light for the money. It does everything the more expensive Aperture 300X can do. I personally like the ballast design on the Knowled better because it can be rested on the ground or mounted to a stand, also the menu interface is better in my opinion. It connects to the app without any hassle and has the added benefit of a couple pre-programmed lighting FX (lightning, candle light, fire, TV etc). My only complaint is that the v mount adapter that connects the ballast to a stand has a little bit of play, does not effect how the light functions and it's still very secure. Great light overall.

Lots of brightness here and it comes with a diffuser so the flexibility is endless. You can throw a ton of light and then soften the whole thing plus you can still go from warm to cool to dial it in exactly as you need.

There is a power supply mount in the bottom that you can remove or leave it to corral the cords a bit better. The diffuser can be removed or added by taking off four screws. The base arms are slightly angled forward which I like a lot so you have a bit more mobility with the barn doors.

This doesn't come with a bag or case but it's packed well in the box and you could easily use that for transport. These barn doors are a bit smoother than other's I've worked with. This also uses the app so you can dial things in while sitting as the subject. I really like the app. Makes my life way easier.

The whole mount is plastic which I didn't like at first but it's still heavy (strong not actually that heavy) and high quality. I don't think it'll matter. I expect metal arms but these don't shake or waver.

I think it's important to mention that this has a small fan on the back. You can see it in my pictures. The light doesn't get hot at all or add heat to the room. The fan also doesn't kick on unless the brightness gets to a certain point (maybe 50%). But the fan does emit a low hum. I didn't pick it up on my camera at all and it doesn't add much to room tone. But if you're lighting something with very particular audio, that's something to consider when using this light.

Otherwise, it's been great and a go-to for my small studio. It works really well and it's simple to use. Happy with it.
