This UltraLITE 4-Person Headset System from Eartec includes one UltraLITE Single-Ear Master headset, three UltraLITE Dual-Ear Remote headsets, four rechargeable LiPo batteries, a ten-port charger, and a soft-side case. It is designed to accommodate four-person crews who need to communicate wirelessly while simultaneously working with their hands. This configuration is intended for use in the United States.

The UltraLITE headsets have the transceiver built right inside the ear-cup, eliminating headset wires and belt-worn radios. They provide two-way voice communication and the microphone arm can swivel 270° allowing you to wear the mic on the left or right side. Raising the mic boom into the up position automatically mutes the microphone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do all headsets mute in the up position?

A: Yes

Q: 2. what is the range in feet of this product?

A: 1312'

Q: 3. These are party line and are muteable? Or is there no PTT function?

A: The UltraLITE system does not have a PTT option. Once connected all units are able to communicate hands free in an open line communication pattern. Headset mics can be muted by lifting the mic boom to its upright position.

Q: 4. Are the headsets linked or synced right out of the box?

A: The system is linked simply by first turning on the headset labeled "Master," and then turning on the other satellite headsets. The master headset will flash a blue light to search for the others in the system, which will also show a flashing blue light. When the the lights on all of the units show solid blue, then they are synced.

Q: 5. Would I need to buy anything else to make these work or is just buying these good?

A: Nothing else to purchase, this system is complete out of the box.

Q: 6. Is there a device to extend the signal when walls or balconies are in the way e.g. in an old theatre or in a stadium)?

A: I don't think you should have any problems as long as you are within the distance they are made for. In an open space they are good up to 1312'. Also they are not bluetooth they run in the 1920 to 1930 MHz range.

Q: 7. in the future if I buy more a remote handset I can expand to total 6 people talking?

A: You might want to get their 800# from www(dot)eartec(dot)com and call them. I have worked with them a couple of times and the customer service is very good. We have the same base station and it supports 6 wireless and 1 wired headset. To go above that, I believe you need a second base.We use the headsets at church and they are very reliable. Only issue is that you need to turn the base on first and then put the batteries in the headsets. Otherwise, we had some garbling. Base can run everyone in conference or 2 channels, which is convenient. It's made a major difference for me since I am the Service Producer and need to talk to lights, video and the camera people throughout the service.

Q: 8. if I buy UltraLITE 7 Person and then another 7 I can use the 14 together ?

A: Maybe. There is an interlink cable you can buy from Eartec, but you should confirm it works with 14 headsets (I've only used it with 10). Even if this works you need two base stations.

Q: 9. Are these water resistant?

A: The Eartec UltraLITE headsets are not water resistant

Q: 10. the extrenal hub gives you more covered distance and better signal? im afraid of having interference on concerts with 2000 cellphones around...

A: The Eartec UL4S UltraLite system operates in the 1920 to 1930 MHz range. 900MHz, 1800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies are not used in the US with the exception of 1 band using 1900MHz. Most cell phones in the US operate in the 800MHZ frequency range. So the risk of any problems with cell phones is pretty much slim to none. Not to mention the protocols are different between cell phones and professional duplex intercom and IFB systems.

These worked great, but there is one minor issue with the remote head sets. The master head set has a slider switch to turn it on or off. The remote head sets have a rubber push button that you have to hold down for say 3-5 seconds to shut the head set off. When you insert a battery in to the remote head sets they turn on. You have to make sure to turn the remote head set off when you insert the battery. It's very easy to put a fresh battery in a remote head set, not turn it off and then forget about it and have it drain the battery.

For about a decade I've used some Cobra Micro Talk radios with clip worn mics. This worked okay but I was never really happy with them. After breaking two of them at the last event I noticed these UltraLITE headsets on sale and after a little research, made the puchase. I'm very glad I did. These really make things easier being truly hands-free so we can operate gear with both hands and stay in contact. I've now used them indoors and outdoors and the work well. Extra batteries took a little searching to find. I'm so pleased with these that if they go on sale again I will likely buy more so I have have a set for two different location events happening at the same time.

These headsets are amazing! Used them for a couple of remote shoots and they worked flawlessly. Can't wait to expand users and buy the hub along with a wired headset and another wireless.

Incredible tool for dual operator drone shoots. Pilot and cam op can clearly communicate over external sounds and the third head set can be handed off to director watching the monitor. And the range is pretty incredible.

I needed the ability to communicate with my second camera operator when shooting video of live events (concerts, weddings, etc) and found the Eartec UltraLITE UL2D headsets. They work perfectly for my needs. Super simple to set up, crystal clear audio and hands-free operation (no need to push a button to talk). They work well, the battery lasts a long time, they're comfortable, and they're inexpensive. Highly recommended.
