This Smith-Victor SL200 2-Light 1200 Watt Softlight Location Kit is built around the mini-soft box/quartz halogen light. This new light gives you up to 600 watts of soft, diffused quartz light from a concealed source. Unit comes with a DYH 600 watt quartz lamp.

I was a bit discouraged by the negative review but these are good lights. They do smoke a bit when you first turn them on due to some packing grease put on them but after about 10 min it stops. The smoke is not offensive nor electrical at all. The stands are good quality and easy to use. Bag is also a lifesaver. 5

These lights are really nice due to their mobility and floods a limited area very well. If you have a very large space to light, you'll need more than these... but for a more compact space they are perfect. I needed a simpler solution than traditional softboxes (the complexity of setup in a limited time) and these were the answer. The total kit combines for about 30 lbs with the case, so transporting is a breeze. They do get very hot, but that is true of all halogen light sources. The only thing I'd change, the lights only dim high and low, there is no in between. 5

Everything works great! I really recommend this product. Reviews say it's hard to put together but it's not hard if you have common sense. This was my first time buying and working with lighting and set up and break down was easy. There are no instructions but you don't need any. Light stand are not the best (a little flimsy) but you get what you pay for. I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for my first set of lights but at the same time I need them to last a long time work well. So far, I couldn't be happier. And the carrying case is awesome. Would have been super happy if it came with 3 umbrellas instead of just 2 but I guess now I can buy a different umbrella for the 3rd light to see what works best. 5

I use these lights for film and photography purposes. They create strong bright light and the umbrellas are diffuse the light perfectly. They take a few minutes to set up though and can be tricky to move when completely set up but they are more than worth the effort. 5
