Styled in white, the Dynaudio Acoustics LYD 7 is a personal reference monitor designed to work for home or project studios or anywhere in need of a powerfully accurate monitor. Its handmade design implements aluminum wire voice coils, along with a Class-D amplifier and a 96 kHz / 24-bit signal path with onboard DSP to bolster audio performance.

With a relatively lightweight woofer, the monitor secures a quick and accurate transient response, which is essential for critical listening and mixing decisions. Extending from 45 Hz to 21 kHz, the LYD 7 has a 7" woofer and a 1" soft dome tweeter.

The monitor offers several options for tweaking the sound for your environment. Switches are provided for tonal boosting or cutting, to better suit your particular room placement. These switches are all detented, so you can easily match one speaker to another. An XLR input is provided for pro setups, while RCA is on hand for the hi-fi enthusiast.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. So, I have to ask - what is the difference between this stand and a standard mic stand? Realistically, it seems one could use any mic stand (table or floor) with a 3/8" thread. Thanks!

A: The base plate for this will have a better balance than a normal mic stand for the larger speakers like the xx4x and xx5x size speakers. The pole is thicker than a standard mic stand and has a locking pin as an added safety measure. A standard mic stand pole may not support the weight of these monitors. Microphone stands are not designed to support the weight of a monitor. They may easily tip or start to slide down

Q: 2. Does it need an outlet? Can it be used outside?

A: This speaker system has to be plugged to an outlet. It does not have any kind of weatherproofing so using it outside is not recommended.

Q: 3. Are these speakers 110-240?

A: The power supply is 100-120v only.

Q: 4. It has 1x XLR 3-Pin Balanced Input. Is it for balanced AES/EBU cable with XLR connector, or XLR audio cable?

A: The Dynaudio Acoustics LYD 48 3-Way Nearfield Speaker Monitor (Left, Black) has a balanced XLR input for analog audio signal. It should not be used to connect digital audio signal from AES/EBU cable.

Q: 5. Does the Genelec G One come with a mini to pair of RCA cables cable? Thanks!

A: The Genelec G One 2-Way Powered Bookshelf Speaker (White, Single) BH #GEG1BW does not come with RCA cables.

Q: 6. Will these monitors work with these stands? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1378627-REG/pyle_pro_pstnd32_studio_monitor_s

A: The mounting plate on the Pyle Pro Universal Monitor Speaker Stands - Pair (B&H # PYPSTND32) is 8.9 x 8.9" and will support the weight of the Dynaudio Acoustics LYD 48 Speaker Monitor, but the speaker will be hanging over the edges. The footprint of the LYD 48 is 14.5 x 12.9". You can find several options for compatible speaker stands by clicking on the "Accessories" tab above the description on the item page for the speaker, then click on the tab for "Stands & Supports" on the left side of the page.

Q: 7. Is there a way to adjust the microphone gain from the speaker?

A: While there is not a multi-stage gain control, the Yamaha MS101-4 Powered Monitor Speaker 30W Class-D's single Volume pot on its front panel will affect the level of a connected microphone signal.

Q: 8. Hi! I love these speakers. They are beautiful and they produce wonderful sound! ...Until I moved them... I used the same mogami gold cables I had when they were on my desk and wall mounted them (using genelec wall mounts) high up almost near the ceiling inside my vocal booth. But now certain bass frequencies are way over pronounced in my booth and I'm experiencing a boomy bass in the lower frequencies that I can't clear up. I know my speakers need to be calibrated in this new configuration, but I'm not sure what to do or what to buy. Can anyone help? Is there software? Is the GLM kit compatible with this model? An audiobook narrator in Atlanta would love your expertise. Thanks in advance!

A: You can try using a bass trap in your booth like B&H # AULBTCHP for example.

Q: 9. what is the ohm ratings for these speakers?

A: The input impedance rating for the Adam Professional Audio T8V T-Series Active Nearfield Monitor is listed as 10 kOhm / 20 kOhm.

Q: 10. How do I connect this with the monitor? And will this work with any monitor?

A: The Cyber Acoustics Sound Bar USB Speaker with Monitor Mount mounts to your monitor and connects (via USB) to your computer. If your monitor has a built-in USB hub, the Sound Bar can be connected to one of the monitor's USB ports; otherwise it would interface directly with the computer.
