A: This will work in multiple switch boxes. Only requires a new faceplate if your existing switches are not rocker style.

Setting up this light switch was pretty painless and the Kasa app works great. Although I initially ran into a server glitch when trying to get the switch working with a Google Home, after waiting a few hours, everything synced and I haven't had a problem since. Voice commands work great, and the physical switch works well. I never both with the Kasa app anymore since it's easier to use my Google Home. The electrical wiring for this switch is pretty easy, especially if you have experience (but as a PSA from a former electrician, ensure you turn off the power at the breaker/fuse box first). The switch already has the 4 wires necessary coming out of the back, eliminating the need to purchase additional wire, and it comes with 4 wire nuts in the box. Before the switch came in, I thought I might need to make a quick run to the hardware store, but the switch came with everything I needed. 5

I'll preface this with I'm very comfortable with home electrical work, if you're not this might be a little more complicated for someone who is not comfortable with electrical wiring at home. Great product, looks clean, fits in with my existing decora style switches. I did have to chisel away a little dry wall behind the face plate of my switches to get everything to sit flush with the wall, but otherwise quick install, no issues. I like the app, it's clean and works well. Integration with Alexa was quick and easy. Overall love it, looking forward to installing some of the dimable modules. 5

Installation was easy.�Paired up with a motion sensor and some fiddling with Stringify flows, all are working just fine. Of course, I can control manually. I wish there was a IFTTT/Stringify trigger when the switch is turned on / off manually. 5

I have many TP-Link Kasa Smart switches and plugs. They are all excellent in what I feel is the most important function of a smart wifi device - the ability to retain a steady wifi connection even when located some distance from the wifi access point. One of my Kasa smart plugs even works inside an outdoor wooden shed 45 feet from the house and more than 50 feet from the access point inside a cabinet in the house. The Kasa software is functional. The only minor issue I have had is that setup of these devices sometimes takes more than one try to initially connect, and on occasion the device is actually connected even though the setup software doesn't think so. Remember, these devices work on 2.4ghz wifi signals only, not on 5ghz. I am using only the Kasa app on my iPhone, not any smart home software other than Kasa (like Google's or Amazon's), so I can't comment on that. 5

If you have a neutral in your switch box, this is the way to go.� The smart switch must draw more than what a typical in-wall timer would draw since it requires the neutral.� It has a subtle light in the switch itself, which is nice if your room is dark - you immediately see the switch.� It works well manually and by remote as well as with Alexa.� The advantage of having a switch vice something like the Philips Hue is that you can manually override anytime you want, which is kind of nice.� The other nice advantage is that you can use it as a timer too. 5
