The Shure QLXD2/SM86 is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with QLX-D receivers. It comes equipped with an SM86 cardioid condenser capsule that features a frequency response tailored for clear vocal reproduction. The cardioid polar pattern helps to isolate the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise.

The QLXD2/SM86 operates on a 64 MHz UHF tuning range with 2560 selectable frequencies available. It provides up to 9 hours of operation on two AA batteries, with a transmission range up to 330' and a selectable 1/10mW RF power output.

With a rugged, yet lightweight aluminum housing, the QLXD2/SM86 transmitter delivers pristine audio quality and RF performance, as well as AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission and advanced rechargeability options. It is well suited for sound reinforcement applications in medium-sized venues and houses of worship as well as A/V installations in conference, educational, and corporate facilities.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Shure QLXD14/83 receiver connect to multiple transmitters?

A: The Shure QLXD14/83 Digital Wireless Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone System (J50A: 572 to 608 + 614 to 616 MHz) is a single channel receiver and will connect to one transmitter at a time.

Q: 2. is there a difference between buying this and two single channel digital wireless receivers ?. apart from saving some money

A: There is no difference apart from saving money and space.

Q: 3. What is Lemo3 and do I need it for a gutair to connect to the Ulxd... thx

A: The Shure ULXD1 Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter with LEMO3 has a LEMO 3-pin input connector. The same transmitter is also available with a TA4 connector. These are two different types of audio connections which you would use to connect audio sources to the transmitter.

Q: 4. I was told by another dealer that i cannot use a ULXD2 transmitter with a QLXD4 receiver, does anyone know if this is really true. cause under compatible TX's it says you can?

A: Yes, but both devices must have the same operating frequency band, such as G50. Group and Channel settings within the frequency band are the same for ULX-D and QLX-D. The Group and Channel number for each device have to be set manually, as the InfraRed sync will not work.

Q: 5. We have 2 BLX4/SM52 systems, with the frequency range of 584-608. We need a replacement mic. I see that the receiver range is now divided between 2 mic bands, H11:572-596 and J11:596-616. Does it matter which band mic I get?

A: As long as both the Shure BLX4 Wireless Receiver and the Shure BLX2/SM58 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter with SM58 Capsule are tuned to the same frequency, the transmitter and receiver will be able to communicate together. So for a BLX4 Receiver with a frequency band of 584 to 608 MHz, you can use a BLX2/SM58 Transmitter that operates on the H11 band of 572 to 596 MHz or a BLX2/SM58 Transmitter that operates on the J11 band 596 to 616 MHz.

Q: 6. Can you only run (1) microphone through this item?

A: Yes only one wireless ULX-D Wireless System transmitter may be paired with this receiver.

Q: 7. Does the Shure ULXD1 Transmitter come with a mic or is that sold separately?

A: Microphones are not included but are available as optional purchases.

Q: 8. I have receiver DDT4T I looking for Handheld Transmitter . Do you think this one work with my receiver?

A: I am sorry - B&H has no reference for a DDT4T transmitter. The ULXD2 Handheld Transmitter with SM58 Microphone Capsule (G50) is designed for compatibility with Shure's ULX-D wireless systems only.

Q: 9. How many ULXD4D receivers that you can link without the D.A

A: you can only connect two systems without Distribution

Q: 10. I can change the capsule of this handheld and use KSM8 and KSM9?

A: Yes you can use the Shure RPW174 or the Shure RPW186.
