The HDMI to SDI Video Converter from xVision converts a HDMI signal to SDI and features an integrated power supply with locking PowerCON connector. This converter is equipped with a built-in convenience 120V outlet to power a nearby projector, TV, laptop, and more, while eliminating the need of a power bar to power both the converter and device. The HDMI input was tested and is compatible with Mac computers and iPads. It is ideal for use in professional A/V events, presentations, live shows, and tours.

A: SHV+ supports "8 Channels for SDI Embedded Audio" and "2 channels for Ext. Audio out".

A: 9 fields (4.5 frames) Audio or video can be delayed. I'm not an expert video tech - but I guess the actual time in ms would depend on the frame rate of the video signal.

Q: 4. With this adapter allow 12-Bit ProRes RAW recording over HDMI to a monitor-recorder?

A: The Z CAM HDMI to SDI Converter is an HDMI to SDI converter, and is intended to take the HDMI output from Z Cams and convert it to an SDI 3-G format. If you want to record 12-Bit ProRes RAW from your Z Cam we recommend using your camera's HDMI output to send a feed to the Atomos Ninja V.

Q: 5. Would this switch work with a Dante setup with Yamaha DM7 and RIO Stage boxes?

A: Yes, the Theatrixx Technologies xVision Gigabit Network Switch with 5 x Copper Ports can be used as part of a Dante network.

Q: 6. Will this work on cameras other than the z-cam? Or is it proprietary?

A: This is for Z-Cam only.

Q: 7. Does the SDI port support 4k?

Q: 8. What's the dimension including the protruded SDI port?

A: unfortunately the manufacturer does not provide those dimensions in their specifications

Q: 9. How many frames of delay is there to the output of the SDI? I'm interested to see if this camera would work in a live production environment for IMAG.

A: The Z CAM E2 cameras have several frames of latency on the output that would unfortunately also pass to the Z CAM HDMI to SDI Converter.

Q: 10. How does this mount? It's difficult to tell with only one product photo.

A: It would slide into the battery slot on the rear, and you would than have the option to power via DC

Note that in our experience, one of four ordered worked right out of the box, but the other three required a firmware update, via usb... after the update, these units function consistently anywhere in the signal path, and provide solid output signal to various devices and processors down the line. No other issues whatsoever. Worked well to provide monitoring from multiple Canon 5Ds, even when switching from HD to SD during recording... 5

Lets me use my Panasonic 26 inch monitor with my Canon 5 D. Very small can be used at the monitor cart or mounted on the camera itself. Well made ! 5

I use this as a converter for my 5D, 7D, and HVR-z7u to my Marshall Orchid Monitor HDSDI, or my Teradek HDSDI cube vido transmitter. It works great. I had an AJA box at first, but as we all learned, aja converters do not work with the 5D mark 2. This converter does the trick no problem!!! 5

I needed an HDMI to SDI converter with an audio embedder at a reasonable price. This product did its job right out of the box. Would have liked to see enclosed in the box a one page instruction for the dip switch settings. 5

We use the product to convert Panasonic HD cameras with HDMI output to SDI signals so they can be integrated into the new Panasonic HD switcher series. It works like a champ. No signal loss and now we can use the HMC150 HD camera in the mix of our switched system. The box is a bit pricey but it does the job. And or course we all hate the old wall warts but no real way to get around them 5
