The HT300C Dynamic Microphone Transmitter and PL22 Cardioid Head from Electro-Voice is designed for capturing audio when paired with the R300-HD wireless microphone receiver (sold separately). The metal transmitter is made to withstand the rigors of daily use while remaining comfortable and lightweight in your hand. The 32-channel transmitter can be used for all-around singing, speaking, and voice applications.

Featuring a cardioid polar pattern, the RCC-PL22 microphone head effectively enhances voice intelligibility and reduces sound system feedback potential when used properly. The dynamic element does not consume transmitter battery power and the internal shockmount helps to reduce handling noise.

Q: 4. I already have a Tascam DR-10L Pro. Is there an adaptor that will allow me to use this (or another ENG mic) without a new rec?

A: An adapter cable such as BH #RECASEK100M could technically be used to connect a dynamic ENG mic to the Tascam DR-10L, but this would not be recommended. Dynamic microphones will need more gain than the DR-10L is designed to provide, and results may not be as desired.

Q: 5. Is this ideal for a podcast? Or is there a better handheld option?

A: This microphone is great to be used for interviews, however in a podcast scenario you might want to look into dynamic recording microphones. see links bellow for options. This mic came with the Sennheiser EW 100 G3 Series Dual Basic Kit (B / 626 - 668 MHz) i received as a gift, and it really comes handy, and as the kit comes with the wireless transmitter, well, it's definitely a no brainer. Excelent sound quality with nothing to set up or do to the mic, other than connecting the cable and starting to talk.

I don't have a ton of experience with mics, but I just bought and used this one for the first time and it seemed to do the job well. So, five stars from me!

I know nothing about mics and was considering getting different types of mics especially on a budget. I went on the red carpet worried that I was going to have to put the mic so close to my interviewee but I was wrong. The mic was great , the sound came out great and I have no regrets.

I purchased this mic because of its omnidirectional capabilities and it served its purpose during its first job in use. What Im about to tell you is absolutely 100% true. While shooting a rehearsal dinner the Mother of the Groom picked up the ElectroVoice RE50/B and began to speak but what she didn't realize was that she was holding the mic upside down. Even with the mic being held upside down the audio still sounded good. All of my other directional mics would not have been able to pic up her voice but the OmniDirectional capabilities of the mic worked great.

The EV did not disappoint on its first use at the London Notting Hill Carnival launch. I was commissioned to produce three short clips for webcast and a 40 minute film of the event. The EV was used for interviewing VIPs and distinguished guests. Linked to a Shure FP33 audio capture was pristine despite my 15 year old son at the controls. No echo or handling noise inside and certainly no wind noise outside. I didn't even use a windshield! The presenter I used kept waving the mic around initially due to nervousness (or did she lie to me about not being camera shy)? Not a single pop. There were no reflections in the video footage due to the matt black finish which gave it a quality look too. First impressions - excellent sound capture with quality you can feel. I look forward to the journalistic and documentary use I purchased it for.

I shoot interviews for my own online channel and finally (after three years of borrowing from friends) I wanted my own. I was looking for a mic that was long enough to fit my 2x2 micflag. After reading the reviews and seeing the price, I felt comfortable in going with the RE50/B and it's just everything I could ask for in terms of style and ease of use. I also bought a wind protector which holds quite nicely.
