Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it fit a Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 lens

A: No, the Voigtlander LH-10 Lens Hood is is not designed for use with either the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical Lens or the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical II MC Lens. As an alternative, the Voigtlander LH-6 Lens Hood for 35mm f/1.4 & 40mm f/1.4 Nokton Lens, B&H # VOLH6 • MFR # BD227A, would instead be the correct lens hood for use with the aforementioned lenses.

Q: 2. What I'm really looking for is a lens hood for the Olympus 17mm f2.8 lens, not the the f1.8. Does anyone know if there is one for that lens? Thanks

A: B&H has several 37mm screw-in lens hoods... the Heliopan 71037H would surely work, but I think I'd try the General Brand 37mm Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood first. 17mm field of view isn't all THAT wide, and the rubber hoods collapse if they cause vignetting, but will still provide some protection from off-axis light.

Q: 3. Cannon rep said that the G1X Mark111 would take a 37mm filter. This size was determined by inscription in lens cap. How would the hood fit as described?

A: This hood fits into the 37mm filter thread on the G1X Mark III. If you already have a filter on the camera, the filter would need to have front threads in order for the hood to attach.

Q: 4. Will this fit a SX50 HS?

A: I BI eli mI believe that this item is designed or the 60 only

Q: 5. Is this metal or plastic?

A: This hood is plastic.

Q: 6. How does this mount? I just got lens and hood, and I see no way to attach the lens hood. I have other hoods so not unfamiliar.

A: The Olympus LH-40B Lens Hood for M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 Lens is a dedicated hood and is made specific for the M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 Lens. And is a type of bayonet connection.

Q: 7. Is this made from plastic or metal? Thanks!

A: This is going to be made of metal.

Q: 8. Does this lens Hood allow filters Tobe attached to it?

A: No, the front of the Canon LH-DC110 Lens Hood does not have filter threads to allow filters to be attached.

Q: 9. I have a 37mm filter on mine. How does the thumbscrew work? And why does it say 46mm screw in hood if the lens only accepts a 37mm filter????Thanks

A: The hood attaches around the filter. The thumb screw pushes a semicircle band inside the diameter of the hood applying even pressure to hold it on. Its basically a clamp.

Q: 10. Does this hood work also for the Voigtländer 40mm 1.4 SC? If not, is there a hood with similar form factor working for the 40mm?

A: The Voigtlander LH-12 Lens Hood will not be compatible and the 40mm f1.4 SC and MC both take the LH-6 shade https://bhpho.to/3VMIIdl. There is no hood with similar form factor working for the Voigtländer 40mm 1.4 SC lens.

This lens hood comes with no instructions which may sound strange since you may never have had to use instructions to mount your lens hood on your lens before. However, it is made with a little locking mechanism that clicks into place when the lens hood is mounted on your lens. You must press a little button on the side to release the locking mechanism to take it off. There are no instructions provided for this. If you try to take it off without pressing the button you will surely damage it.

The first one I received locked properly with the hood mounted for storage, but in the usage position it did not lock and would easily fall off the lens. Either the little locking tooth that is used in the usage position was slightly out of place or broken and I received an item that had been returned by a previous purchaser who broke it

Its expensive because of this clever but delicate technology, so be sure to use the push button to remove the hood when you want to dismount it in either position - storage or usage potions.

This is one of my few bayonet petal hoods. Most of my hoods are much older and made of metal, so I was curious about these more modern hoods. I'm quite impressed by this hood. At first glance, it looks like it's just plastic, but if you look more closely in the light, you can see that it's made of a composite material and there are fibers in the material. It's not only strong and stiff, but when you pick it up, it feels surprisingly light (similar to a carbon tripod) and feels solid. It also has a really nice texture to it that feels nice in the hand. There are small arrows silk-screened on the body so you know where to put the hood on and in what direction to turn it to lock and unlock it. It attaches in both the regular and reversed directions with a firm and positive click and there is an unlock button to unlock it. It locks on both in the regular and reversed positions. It's definitely a hood that feels at home on the Pro lens it is meant for and one of the nicest hoods I've ever seen.
