I'm upgrading from the 1st generation, and it's very nice to have it charge magnetically while sitting in the case. The whole squeeze to access tools seems a little like magic. You just hold the pencil above where you're working and squeeze and various tools become available (depending on the particular app being used.). Very solid feel and comfortable. 5

I’ve loved the Apple Pencil since generation 1. I’ve used the generation 2 and didn’t imagine that it could get any better. I only got the Pro because I upgraded to the iPad Pro M4. I love this pencil! Especially the “squeeze” function and the Haptic Touch. 5

I had an older 5th gen iPad mini that used the older 1st gen lightning-based Apple Pencil. The battery in my pencil finally died, so I needed a new one. It was a bit confusing as to whether this pencil was the correct replacement, since it mentions USB-C, rather than lightning, but I can confirm that this is indeed the 1st gen lightning-based pencil, that just happens to have a lightning to USB-C adapter mentioned in the product title. 5
