A lens of a different flavor. Unless your camera can shoot with manual lenses, this one may not work for you. My D7100 CAN shoot with manual lenses, and do so very well. This one was an obvious choice. It is also best to get the longer (250mm) mounting rail to support it and the camera. While a decent choice for wildlife photography, it can, with a 2x converter get you the moon. Many factors come together that may limit resolution, Atmospheric water vapor and pollution are your biggest enemies. However you still get good printable images in spite of that which requires respectable quality glass and/or high index plastics in the construction of the lens(es). The zoom aspect requires you to loosen the knurled collar in the middle. And the foot rotates in a machined grove in the lens tube- You can rotate the position, but you really cannot and should not try move the foot longitudinally on the barrel. At full extension, because your focus ring is at the end of the lens, Live View is probably your best bet when trying to focus this lens. Also setting Shutter delay is a good idea as well, as this much weight will tend to bounce for a second or two. 5
