Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many grams inside the container?

A: the B+W Cyber Clean Cleaning Compound is 140 grams in weight.

Q: 2. Does this come automatically with the stabilizing mask and hood?

A: The Negative Supply Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 only comes with Negative Supply Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2, 4 x Masks (6 x 4.5, 6 x 6, 6 x 7, 6 x 9), and Limited 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty.

Q: 3. Hands free camera strap

A: Theoreticaly maybe, but have not seen any one useing it that way, always one hand on camera when shooting.

Q: 4. I'm 5'4 female with a Nikon D810 and 500mm lens. Will this work on a Botswana safari where the vehicles are open and a bean bag would be useless and a monopod might be difficult?

A: I am 5'4 and have a nikon D750. I used the vest on a recent trip to the arctic. It was wonderful for securing the camera with the 70-200mm lens when I was getting in and out of the zodiac boats or when we were in rough waters and it takes the weight of the camera off your neck when you are out shooting for hours. The steady shot was an okay replacement for a tripod in tight or rough shooting conditions, but it is subject to the movement of your body. Use a fast shutter speed and a high ISO and you will need to keep your hands on the camera, especially with a big lens. I haven't tried it with my 500mm lens as I just bought that one.

Q: 5. Will This work with a Nikon 800mm fl Ed 5.6 lens?

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR Lens (B&H # NI80056) has not been tested with the Cotton Carrier Steady Shot with Camera Vest. According to the manufacturer, a 600mm lens will place your weight forward and for some, it becomes a bit awkward. While they suggest that the system will not fail, it may not be ideal as it becomes a matter of comfort.

Q: 6. Does this fit a D500 and Nikkor 200-500 mm lens? Also, when not using for steady shot, does this function as a carrier harness, as well?

A: 1. I use it for D80 with Sigma 300-600, so it should be fine with your rig.2. Yes, it functions as an excellent camera harness, super comfortable and convenient. In fact, I do not use steady shot much, but I never go shooting with my telephoto without the vest -- the lens is too heavy to carry around my neck for more than an hour, with the vest I can walk and shoot all day long.

Q: 7. Will this work with the smallish Cotton Scout G2? I assume lateral stability wouldn't be as good as with a larger carrier, but I mainly want something to relieve the weight on my left hand when holding. Other suggestions??

A: No. The following unit is designed and made for the cotton carrier harness system for a better end-user experience.

Q: 8. Is it possible to hook a digital camera up to this to capture an image?

A: B&H has no adapters to mount a digital camera to the Celestron CM400C Compound Cordless Monocular Microscope BH #CECM400C • MFR #44134 However, I would recommend the Celestron 5.0MP Digital Microscope Imager (Black) BH #CEDMIHD5MP • MFR #44422 to attach to a laptop

Q: 9. Does this support xpan panoramic images 24x65mm?

A: Yes, this comes with three different scanning mounts. One of the scanning mounts is meant for panoramic images.

Q: 10. Will this work with CineStill CS-Lite light source?

A: The Negative Supply Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 can work with the CineStill Film CS-Lite Camera Scanning Light Source with CS-Litemask.

This makes my 35mm film scanning fast and easy, for both strips and uncut rolls of 35mm film. The build quality is robust and solid, and this carrier securely attaches to my light source with the Negative Supply stabilizing mask.

The including interchange format masks for this carrier are super helpful. I shoot regular 35mm and half frame, and not having to add additional masks is rad! The carrier includes half frame, full frame, and panoramic format masks.

This is a massive leg up in terms of sharpness/film flatness over the Valoi carrier I previously used, as well as the Skier system I used before that.

I’m using this mostly to scan 6x6 film, both from cut strips and uncut rolls of film. I get consistent results every time, and love the interchangeable format masks and the ability to change between the standard and full border cassettes.

This carrier holds the film very flat, and is vastly superior to other carriers I’ve used from other brands thus far. Like my other Negative Supply items, this is built well and gives me great results with ease. I’m using this on the 99 CRI basic light from Negative Supply, and added the stabilizing mask. Solid workflow.

I’ve used a few different brands, 120 carriers/holders (?), but this one really does a good job of a) keeping it higher from the light so that I don’t see the texture of the LED panel in the photos and b) keeps that film very flat.

I considered the 'essential film holder' but that is almost twice the cost and takes a while to ship. This works great! Yes, 3d printed, so it can have small imperfections. I sent one back, but got another one that was fine.

The perfect compliment to the Cotton Carry system. Provides a sure and steady platform for taking that photo. I like it very much.

I bought this carrier to hold 24x65mm Hasselblad Xpan negatives, which it can do with the 68mm-wide mask that is one of three it comes with. I'm still building the digitizing setup, which also will use a Negative Supply 4x5 Light Source Basic Mk 2 (to be reviewed separately). However, I've already tested the carrier and determined it holds negatives with adequate flatness for the limited depth-of field at 1:1 magnification. I'm quite happy with the quality of the carrier.
