The 5600K BoltRay LED400 Daylight Fixture from Dracast is a versatile fixture with spot-to-flood beam capability. Its included 4-way barndoors help you to further shape the beam, lighting areas that you want to and keeping light from areas that you don't. The light metal and plastic construction backed with a U-shaped yoke make it easy to mount in difficult places.

The LED400 dims from 0-100%. Dracast uses PWM (pulse-width modulation) to make possible this wide dimming range with high color fidelity (CRI 96) without flicker. The light features high output with low 40W power draw and runs barely warm to the touch thanks to a virtually silent fan. Besides the barndoors, and yoke, the LED400 comes with a soft nylon carrying case and multi-voltage AC power adapter and cord that allow you to use it anywhere in the world.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. High output means what? How bright are these at 6 feet? What is the beam angle? How much does each light weigh?

A: The Boltray 400 should be roughly equivalent to around 280-300 Watts of hot tungsten/halogen light. Yes, the beam angle is 60. And the weight per light is about 3 pounds. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 2. Does this include a light stand?

A: No stand just the light, power box, cables, barn doors and a dome modifier that diffuses...and carry case

Q: 3. Can a dimmer be added to this light?

A: This light has build in dimmer from 0% to 100%

Q: 4. Will the barn doors "cut" the light well, or is it too diffused? As it is not a fresnel, I'm curious how owners are using this.

A: The barn doors can shape the light but it is not a hard edge.

Q: 5. Would it be possible to power the light from a V-mount battery via a regulated 7.2v D-tap to NPF style adapter?

A: Ray -- If there is such an adapter, which can connect to a single NPF connection, and you can then plug in a V-mount battery, then it MIGHT work. However, it also may not work, and because we do not have such an adapter and have not tested such an adapter, we cannot recommend that you try it. If you try that method, it will be at your own risk. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 6. Is the Yoke included with this light? IN THE BOX details under item doesn't list all details

A: It is. The barn doors as well.

Q: 7. Is it possible to attach a softbox to this light? I know this wouldn't be first choice for a light for softbox use, but it would be nice to be able to use this way in addition to using undiffused.

A: Yes, there was a Dracast video where they showed a Chimera sofbox they said was made for Dracast. I'd hit up Dracast about it.

Q: 8. Does this light have any flicker issues when shooting at faster frame rates? (above 30fps) My current LED starts to see flickering at lower dimmed levels when shooting at 30fps, and a lot of flickering at higher outputs when shooting 60+fps.

A: This light would not have any issues with flickering above 30 frames per second.

Q: 9. Does light have +/- green (magenta) adjustment to the white CCT?

A: The CCT in the Dracast X Series LED400 RGBWW Light Tube would control the saturation off green or magneta. The color temperature control would be independent of that.

Q: 10. How do you use a battery to power the Dracast BoltRay LED400?

A: This unit is designed for AC wall power only.
