Pocketwizard Flextt5 Transceiver For Panasonic

The FlexTT5 Transceiver for Panasonic is a remote triggering and control device designed specifically for Panasonic's Lumix flashes. With 52 channels over 26 frequencies, the FlexTT5 offers wireless TTL auto exposure of 1 or multiple flashes at impressive distances comparable to other PocketWizard radio products. PowerTracking automatically adjusts for changes in shutter speed, f-stop or ISO. Distribution into 3 groups of flashes is possible with an unlimited number of flashes per group.

High Speed Sync is also supported for shutter speeds shorter than the manufacturer's standard sync speeds. Another type of HSS - HyperSync uses precise timing to give you more light from your flash and is ideal for using power packs or high-powered strobes to freeze action or manage ambient light levels at shutter speeds as short as 1/1250 sec. Auto-Relay Mode can also trigger both a camera and a flash remotely with or without TTL control or both at the same time. The FlexTT5 is PocketWizard compatible meaning that it will work with all PocketWizard radio units and OEM partner products like those in Profoto, Bowens, Dynalite and Lumedyne flashes in non-TTL mode provided they're on the same frequency. The FlexTT5 has USB connectivity that allows you to use a free utility to tweak features like the HyperSync settings and take advantage of updates to future proof the transceiver.

Remotely adjust the manual power settings of your flashes in up to three zones (groups). You can have as many flashes in each group as you want

Automatically adjusts for changes in shutter speed, f-stop or ISO when working in TTL mode. Shoot carefree without the need to readjust your lighting

Get more light, faster recycling times and more shots per battery with Panasonic's High Speed Sync (HSS) mode, optimized by PocketWizard's ControlTL technology. Now you can take advantage of this great feature and shoot wide open in full sun with remote speedlights

HyperSync is able to harness much more energy compared with to pulsed HSS. It also allows photographers to achieve faster X-sync speeds using precision timing to align the flash's duration and output curve with the moving shutter curtains. This allows more light in the image than HSS can provide, and works with higher powered flashes

Works with all PocketWizard radios on the same frequency including PocketWizard OEM Partner products like Sekonic meters and Profoto, Bowens, Calumet, Dynalite, Lumedyne, Norman and Photogenic flash packs for standard triggering and HyperSync

Using a standard USB connection and the free PocketWizard Utility, you can easily configure your channel settings, dial in your HyperSync timing, adjust your sleep-mode timers and update your product to the latest firmware making FlexTT5 radios virtually "future proof"

PocketWizard's Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology enables the FlexTT5 transceiver to switch between transmit mode and receive mode automatically for greater flexibility on the job

Easily trigger a remote camera in sync with a remote flash with Auto-Relay Mode. Put a camera where you can't be and use either remote TTL or non-TTL lighting or both at the same time

Use your Panasonic camera's flash menus to control the power of up to 3 Groups (zones) of light

The FlexTT5 Transceiver has two plug-in ports for use with remote cameras and other flash packs

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will these work with the Nikon Z8?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard PlusX is compatible with the Nikon Z8.

Q: 2. I have older pocket Wizard Plus and need a new transmitter. Will this work with my Plus receiver? It only has 4 channels.

A: Yes, your older system will communicate with channels 1-4.

Q: 3. In my Canon 70D, transceiver on the hotshoe does not trigger flash if Viewfinder LCD of the camera is ON.If I turn off the LCD and look through eye piece view finder, everything works fine.Is this a bug?

A: My Pocket Wizard X's have given me excellent service and are simple to use. I've used the X's on a Leica V-Lux (top 114) and even on a Canon SX 60 without issue but also employing just the viewfinder. It sounds like a glitch to me but a quick call to Nikon service should resolve the problem. However, keep in mind many manufacturers will try to steer you towards their own gear. Short of that try to find another 70D owner who will allow you to run a quick test on his or her camera or, at least, help you trouble shoot the problem online.

Q: 4. Will this work on older Norman P2000D packs?

A: Yes that will work. To attach the Plus X to the pack you need a household to mini sync cord. This is a few of them.PocketWizard MH1 Miniphone to Household Cable - Straight - 16 (40.6 cm) B&H # WICHHM16 MFR # MH1Impact Sync Cord Male Mini to Male Household (18 ) B&H # IMMMHHM18 MFR # 10032330

Q: 5. Does the pocketwizard bring the cables for flash in the box? And how many flash sync cables does a box come with?

A: Yes, but they may not be the correct cables for your flash.Cable one has a PC connector on one end and a Mini 3.5 mm male on the other.Cable two has a Mini 3.5 male on each end with an adapter to 1/4 male

Q: 6. Does PlusX work with Nikon high speed flash?

A: As far as I know it does not. You need the tt-mini to use the high speed flash options.

Q: 7. I want to trigger 3 (or maybe 4) speed lights (combination of Norman and Elinchrom) with my Hasselblad 500. Would two of these sets work (4 total)? Thanks very much!

A: You would need 4 Plus X units if shooting with a Hasselblad 500 series camera and 3 strobes. One would be the transmitter while the other 3 would be receivers.

Q: 8. I have a canon 6d and a newer s101-300 strobe. Will this work for me? The original trigger won’t work for some reason.

A: The PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack should work fine with the Canon 6d and a Neewer s101-300 strobe. Make sure you have channels set the same on the Pocketwizard attached to the flash and the one on the camera.

Q: 9. Why doesn't the Pocket Wizard PlusX 2 Pack come with two sets of adapter cables? Just bought two of these 2-packs and was surprised to find only one set each, So now I have to buy an extra Mono 3.5mm Miniphone-to-Locking PC Cable.

A: so you could pay more money

Q: 10. Works with godox dp1000iii ?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack would be compatible for use with the Godox DP1000III Professional Studio Flash. The PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack includes the cables needed to connect the PlusX to the Godox DP1000III. Do note you will have to set the flash output manually, as TTL flash output would not be compatible when using the PocketWizard PlusX radio transceivers.

No problems with my Nikon D-800. Works as if the flash was on the camera body. To take full advantage of this product you should get the AC-3 zone controller. No misfires so far. Does the HSS over 1/250s. I'm triggering with the Mini TT1.

I bought this for the hypersync capabilities, and it does just that. Wanted it to work with my pluslll units as well, which is does. The software utility to set up the unit takes some getting used to to find the right settings you need. I find it a slight inconvenience to have to need a computer to reprogram the device.

Hands down, Pocket Wizards set the standard for Radio Flash Triggers. This is no exception when it comes to the FlexTT5. It handles all the data from the TTL system perfectly. The range is incredible and the operation is flawless. I would buy more of these when i get additional flash units.

A great transceiver slave unit. It mounts to the Rapid Box bracket and all of my other light stands very well. It also mounts to a mono-pod easily. Very easy to set up with the Pocket Wizard Utility. Take you flash off sleep mode and the very first shot is the calibration shot. The rest of your shots are perfect. Very easy to mount your flash to light weight and portable.

I like this a lot! I purchased it with the mini. I would have liked to also get the controller for the top of the mini, so you can adjust without walking over to the flash unit, when it is on manual mode. Great buy! Looking forward to using during wedding receptions.

As a Strobist disciple, I debated long and hard about which radio triggers to go with after finally getting my flash off camera and realizing the limitations of IR/slave activation. I considered the PlusIII's, Poppers and Phottix, and finally decided on some TT5's and the TT1 (and a Plus III for an old SB28.) Out of the box and updated, every piece worked like a charm. After several weeks of use, not one problem yet with misfire or fail. I am thrilled with the versatility. I can understand the concerns with durability/ruggedness, but with reasonable care I don't see these units as any less forgiving than any other piece of photographic gear. Others have recommended using a TT5 on the camera in place of the TT1 for versatility and battery consistency. I would suggest the opposite- the TT1 is sleek and low profile (just looks better on the camera.) The TT1 makes a great, easy to conceal remote camera trigger (with a PlusIII or TT5 on the camera.) The battery lasts far longer than AA's, and you can carry a 10 year supply in the space of 4 AA's. No big deal. In spite of the fact that I find myself shooting in manual rather than TTL most of the time, I'm very happy I went with the TT5 option instead of straight manual triggers. I also purchased the AC3 zone controller, which has been great, again for manual settings. If you are agonizing over the purchase, just do it. I wish I had pulled the trigger (pardon the pun) a long time ago. Totally worth it!

Wireless Manual Power Control flash is the best way to shoot and with the TT5 and AC3 on camera, manual flash power can be adjusted at the camera. There's no need to stress when manual power needs changing. No need to hike around to all of the lights. And with the TT5 on camera, the camera and lights can be triggered together with a Sekonic Light Meter.

Many companies have their propriatory triggering systems. PW's always work and play with others. Simple, customizable.
