Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. All my XLR cables are too thick to thread through the head of this pole. Which XLR cable is thin enough to fit?

A: You will need a 26 AWG mic cable.

Q: 2. The BC12 raceway is not wide enough to fit a standard XLR cable. Design flaw or is there a solution for this?

A: Some customers have reported that the cable raceway on the E-Image 4-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole does have a very narrow at the top of the pole. One customer mentioned having filed it to make it wider. You will need to use a cable that has a narrow profile to fit the raceway. Ambient Recording does offer slim XLR cables specifically for internal use with boompoles.

Q: 3. What is the Mixed Fiber material exactly? Is it as good as carbon fiber?

A: Unfortunately Cavision does not offer the exact make up of their mixed fiber. Generally this will contain another component such as fiberglass which will offer a less costly alternative to a pure carbon fiber pole and still offer similar durability and lighter weight over an aluminum pole.

Q: 4. Can you still use the mounting screw at the top if you feed a cable through? I don’t see where else the cable would come out if not through the top end.

A: You can't run a cable inside that boom pole. If you could it would have come that way. You have to run it outside the pole. Use Velcro to hold the cable in place so it doesn't bang against the pole.

Q: 5. One answer says you can run a cable through the pole. The other says you can’t? Which is correct, and if you can’t what’s the point of the cable raceway?

A: I understand the confusion regarding the raceway. But I don't see any exit for the cable at the top for a cable. Nor is there a opening for an XLR connector at the base.

Q: 6. will it be able to support the Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Camera for drone like shots?

A: You can use the E-Image 5-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole (11.5') with the Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Camera, however this will not support the camera's invisible selfie stick feature like the Insta360 Extended Selfie Stick for X3, ONE RS/X2/R/X, and ONE (14 to 118"), B&H # INDINEESSB.

Q: 7. What is the diameter of the pole?

A: I am sorry but E-Image does not provide that spec. Each of the four sections will be a different diameter and the mounting threads can be either 1/4-20 or 3/8"

Q: 8. What is the thinnnest tube diameter, ie when fully extended what is the diameter of the outermost section?

A: The specific information on diameter for the sections of the E-Image 5-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole is not provided by the manufacturer.

Q: 9. Do you have the version with the lateral output?

A: The BC-12P does have an integrated XLR cable that exists laterally (from the side).

Q: 10. What does it mean that it has a "built-in raceway for convenient cable management"?

A: This just means you can run the cable through the inside of the pole without having to wrap the cable around the outside of the Boompole giving you a cleaner looking set up.
