A truly fast prime for mirrorless cameras, the silver 35mm f/1.2 ED AS UMC CS Lens from Rokinon is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount cameras, and provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length. This lens is characterized by its bright f/1.2 maximum aperture, which allows for extensive control over depth of field and selective focus, and also benefits shooting in difficult lighting conditions. The optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element and two aspherical elements in order to minimize both chromatic and spherical aberrations, for increased clarity and sharpness, and individual elements also feature an Ultra Multi-Coating to reduce lens flare and ghosting. The manual focus design affords precise focusing control down to 1.25' and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm also contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

This 35mm f/1.2 prime is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a slightly-longer-than-normal 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

Exceptionally fast f/1.2 maximum aperture affords a high degree of depth of field control, to suit selective focus shooting, and also benefits working in low-light conditions.

Two aspherical elements are featured in the optical design in order to minimize spherical aberrations, increase sharpness, and provide even illumination from edge-to-edge.

One extra-low dispersion element is used to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy.

An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements in order to reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast and a neutral color balance.

Manual focus operation allows for precise control with a minimum focusing distance of 1.25'.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. are there markings for hyper focal distance?

A: No, there are not markings for hyperfocal distance on the Rokinon 35mm f/1.2 ED AS UMC CS Lens for Sony E lens.

Q: 2. Can this use with tel converter?

A: Hi, teleconverters work best with lenses with a maximum aperture of f/2.8; this lens has a maximum aperture of f/6.3, so, although you could mount the lens to a teleconverter, there would be no autofocus or auto exposure.

Q: 3. I'm in the market for a decent wide-angle prime lens for my Canon 5D Mark III. I want to use this lens for both wide-angle landscape photography as well as astrophotography. Given that I already have Canon's 24-70mm, f2.8 lens, my questions are: (1) would the Rokinon 20mm, f/1.4 manual focus be a good candidate?; (2) is 20mm wide enough or should I go down to say 14-18mm?; how does this Rokinon lens compare with Canon's EF 20mm, f/2.8 USM lens in terms of usability and quality? Thank you!

A: With astrophotography, the wider the better. You may want to look into a 14mm or Canon makes some great 16-35mm 2.8 zooms that would be great for astro and landscape work.

Q: 4. manual focus only?

A: Hello Roland;Yes, I purchased this lens for my Fuji XT 1, but not the CS Cine, my experience is, it is all manual everything, I second D. Brent & Dan P. answers.

Q: 5. Is this lenses all manual (focus and iris)? Can it be used with BlackMagic 2.5k mount MFT?

A: The BlackMagic Cinema MFT mount camera requires use of manual focus and manually adjustable aperture lenses. The silver Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens will mount on the camera but will not allow you to adjust the aperture of the lens as this lens has a fixed aperture of f6.3. The benefit of the camera using the MFT mount is the availability of adapters which will allow one to mount various manual focus/manual aperture lenses to the camera.

Q: 6. Can I use this lense on a D3300?

A: Yes, the Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 UMC CS Lens for Nikon F would connect to the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. Do note that this is a fully manual lens, and you would have to shoot with the camera in Manual mode. The lens will not work on the D3300 in the automatic mode settings.

Q: 7. Will this work with an extender such as my KENKO C-AF1 1.5X DG?

A: I would not recommend this approach. Further, I would advise that the Canon 75-300mm lens may be a more desirable option, as it is more affordable, has autofocus, a faster aperture, and can be used with a teleconverter: http://bhpho.to/1nuVUxF

Q: 8. Is this lens compatible with a LUMIX g85?

A: The manual focus Rokinon Reflex 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount (Black) is compatible with the Panasonic Lumix G85 Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 9. Will this lens work with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4?

A: Yes, this lens great for GH3,4 use M 3/4 lens mount !

Q: 10. i am knew to this so that being said is this lens good for zooming in from a far distance?

A: This is a telephoto lens, so yes, it is used to shoot from far distances.

This lens is very impressive for the price. Super good bokeh and DOF. It can be hard to manually focus at f/1.2 but you get use to it over time.

I have both the Rokinon 35mm f/1.2 and the 50mm f/1.2 for my Canon M5. Both lenses are rockstars. While they require manual adjustment of the aperture and focus, I actually appreciate that level of engagement when shooting with prime lenses. This lens is usably sharp at f/1.2, much more so than the Canon 50mm f/1.2 (roughly the same focal length when mounted on their respective native cameras). The richness of the colors and contrast is on par with the EF-M 22mm, which is good. This lens also gets top marks for bokeh and build quality. If you're looking to add fast primes to your M kit and know how to shoot on manual with manual focus, this lens will deliver.

This really is an amazing product. Extremely sharp, even wide open and capable of some really artistic shots. The sun stars it creates are beautiful and the light turns buttery soft as it's opened up. Astrophotography is crisp edge to edge at f1.2 with very little vignetting, coma, or astigmatism issues! Overall a stout performer regardless of your intentions. Be wary if you don't have a steady hand and watch your shutter speed to avoid shaky images since it doesn't have any stabilization. But, for the price and the speed it's worth the sacrafice.

For the money, this is another great fast lens.  I bought it for the speed in low light situations and for the price, I havent been disappointed.  With my Sony A6300, I get slightly better results stepping the lens back one or two stops, but even wide open it gives good results for what I use it for.
