Q: 7. When I use a camera D7100 with lens 18-300mm, which weight is about 3lb, Could Oben tripod TT-50 support them?

A: The TT-50 is a small table top tripod. With the ball head in a vertical position it may be OK. If there is any pressure on the ball head, it could creep. A better choice may be the Oben TT-100 which has a removable head. See the link below. If the head cannot handle the specific situation, a more robust head can be attached.

Q: 8. Are the ball head of Oben TT-50 and Oben TT-100 the same or different? What is the advantage of these difference if they are?

A: The 2 tripods and heads are basically the same. The main difference is that the head of the TT-100 can be removed and another head can be attached. The TT-50 does not have this feature.

Q: 9. Looking for tripod to take on my kayak and to do macro -I have mono pod w Oben quick release plate -can I use it on this as well ?

A: Hi, Pretty courageous move to take your camera on a kayak, hats off to you. I purchased the Oben TT-200 to use with a Leica D LUX 6, the ballhead provided with the TT 200 mounts to any camera body that supports the 1/4 screw mount. Your Oben quick release plate will not adapt to the TT 200 ballhead. However, you can remove your monopods bullhead and mount it to the TT 200 pole. Thats the way youll be able to use your quick release feature and plate. Happy Kayaking Thumbs upKind Regards Srecko

Q: 10. I am having difficulty getting the unit to open in tripod stance. does it swing away from it, or do you pull the two pieces apart? it seems very tight

A: It may be very tight when new. The legs will swng away in opposite directions.

The tripod you can always have with you. I've had one for 15 years or more and used it with about 6 different cameras, lately a Lumix LX5. Even the velcro still works. One useful feature that is not usually mentioned is how you can compensate for an off-center tripod mount like the LX5's.

I primarily do casual photography, travel, and take pictures for @ listings at times. This tripod is perfect. It is compact, doesn't occupy much space, is incredibly durable, and functions exactly as intended. What I wish would be better is the velcro strap, which can lose its stickiness over time. That can be fixed with a rubber band or small widget used for keeping cords together at a computer desk.Highly recommended.

I got it to use with my Contour camera. I love the fact that it comes with a velcro strap which make it easy to strap on almost anything, like a backpack strap or trekking pole.

I purchased this for long-distance hiking. I already had the UltraPod II, but wanted something lighter and smaller. The UltraPod I fit the bill. Very happy with use on a Coolpix A. Takes up almost no room in the backpack.

I use this tripod on my lumix fz200 (24X zoom). While its not an SLR (this would not hold an SLR) the fz200 isn't a pocket camera, and this thing holds it quite well. It's small enough to travel with also. The best part is the strap, which can easily be attached to various places and hold the camera well. Love it. It doesn't unfold super quickly, but I'm okay with it as it isn't slow either.

Works great with a Go pro, on the ground for people, dogs, bears or other animals running by. Attaches to branches steel poles or other similar objects. I am surprised that this is not next to Go pros in stores. If I was only going to buy one accessory for a Go pro it would be the Ultra-pod Need to buy the inexpensive Go-pro tripod mount. I have had an ultra-pod for over 30 years. I used to use it for backpacking with a 35mm camera which worked ok if there was a stump, log or boulder handy. But if you are after good images with a 35mm camera you would be better off with a larger sturdier tripod especially if you are looking for soft water or low light images.

Use this for all types of cameras and a flip video recorder. The tripod works great and the platform always stays in place. The velcro strap rocks and allows you to place this on posts, trees, etc. to get the shot. I have purchase several of these in the past and I am back again.
