A: Direct duct tape and frame that out of the shot, or, if you need every millimeter, duct tape circles behind, across the back of the top.

A: Savage lists their vinyl background as having a cardboard core which measures about 2.1 on the inside. If using it with the Impact Wall Mounting Kit, the Vari-Drives in that kit would insert into the cardboard core to help suspend it up onto the wall hooks.

A: The Translum in the medium weight would be just fine.

Q: 4. Can I take this through airport security without it getting ruined by the x-Ray machine?

A: I'm not sure, but whenever I take film through an airport, I ask them not to put it through the x-ray scanner and they comply. I'm sure you could do the same here.

A: I've never used vellum but I have used this translum 2 ways. As a backdrop for headshots with a softbox placed directly behind and one in front to light my subjects. The backlight is just perfect for this and illuminates the subject perfectly. I've also used it with backlight only for maternity sillouhettes and it works great for that as well. It seems to be very durable but you do have to be careful not to crimp or bend it as it blanches out when pinched.

Q: 6. Has anyone used this professionally? Setting up, taking down. Does it wrinkle? Do you have more than one? The description says the color may vary between runs. How much does it vary?

A: This type of background is meant to be set up and left in a space, but it can rolled up without wrinkles. We have not experienced any variation in color among our current stock.

Q: 7. Is the material wrinkle free? I have heard of other brands that people complain that the fabric gets wrinkled and needs to be ironed out. I prefer to avoid that.

A: Yes, this Westcott Collapsible 2-in-1 Black and White Backdrop can wrinkle when folded or when storing it in certain environments. Steaming the wrinkles out would be the easiest option.

A: Not really. With enough direct lighting you MIGHT get a little, but you're more concerned with shadow..... So much depends on distance and angle of your light source.
