A: Unfortunately, there is not a third party replacement for the tripod collar. One solution would be to attach a longer arca plate to the foot. If you search Desmond long arca on our site, you'll see varying lengths for plates and pick the one that is the length you'd like. Keep in mind, this a quick release plate. Sio it doesn't have a hand grip shape to it. It may not be very comfortable to hold. BUT, it would make a great addition in terms of having a quick mount to a tripod system that accepts arca plates.

Q: 9. Read in a review of this lens that a 1.4x tele is included. True?

A: At one point, there were promotional bundles available that included the lens and the 1.4x or 2x tele-extender at additional cost. There was a cost savings when purchased together. Those promotions may or may not still exist.

Q: 10. Has anyone had trouble with airlines using this as carry-on luggage? The size is listed as 23 long (1 more than most airlines allow ), but when I measured it it comes out to 25 long.

A: Its 25. Unfortunately that means it has to be checked in. But depending on what set up you have, the bag does have a squish factor that will allow you to squeeze the bag into the measuring bins at check in. I would call the airlines to make double sure you can take your precious cargo in the cabin with you I would hate to hear your camera was damaged in cargo.
