The Roadpro Series HC83BLS from TAMA is a road-worthy boom cymbal stand designed to provide a secure and durable support for all types of cymbals, with 25% less weight compared to the Roadpro double-braced-leg model.

The HC83BLS features a 15.7" long boom which offers positioning flexibility to best suit your playing style. In situations where space is limited, the stand can be converted to a straight stand with the boom neatly stored in the upper tube.

The HC83BLS is equipped with a Quick-Set Tilter which can be adjusted to any desired angle and a Quick-Set Cymbal Mate which makes attaching and detaching cymbals fast and easy. The tripod base with single-braced legs gives this stand plenty of stability and makes it lighter to transport to your gig.

  • Tripod base with single-braced legs provides stability with 25% less weight compared to Roadpro double-braced leg model, for ease of transportation

  • Offers positioning flexibility for crashes, splashes, and effect cymbals (15.7" long boom)

  • Quick-Set Tilter holds its position using the friction of six smooth metal disc plates instead of traditional toothed gears, so you can adjust it to any desired angle
  • Mechanism has a more durable structure than a conventional gear tilter

  • By simply gripping and pressing the two buttons on the both sides, users can attach and remove the Cymbal Mate with just one touch, making cymbals setup/breakdown a snap
  • Fine adjustments to the cymbal's swinging motion can be made by rotating the unit

  • Convertible tilter lets you convert the stand to a straight stand in situations where stage space is limited, and the boom arm stores neatly in the upper tube

  • Placing a threaded, steel insert nut inside the tripod base provides more strength and makes stripping much less likely than with the traditional method of cutting the threads directly into the die-cast section

  • Cymbal bottom protects the cymbal's center hole from the tilter's shaft and threads
  • If part of the nylon sleeve wears out, you can continue to use the cymbal bottom by turning it upside down

  • Glide-Tite Grip Joint allows for a more secure attachment by using a metal-to-metal contact point which provides a solid anchor and complete isolation for a tom or cymbal
  • Because the stand does not move with the cymbal, the natural resonance of that instrument is maximized

Excellent quality, price and features. Love the air cushioning - many more expensive products do not include it. Very happy with it! You get a complete package with an extendable arm. No need to mix and match.

I researched light stands for weeks trying to find a stable stand that wasn't too expensive. I ended up choosing this one because it comes with the boom arm for the same price as comparable stands without a boom arm. I was blown away at the quality of this stand! Everything is silky smooth, from extending the legs to extending the stand. The Air cushioning is super nice, too - just release the clamps and it slowly drops down. All the connectors, knobs, joints, etc are super industrial, ready for a long life of service.

VALUE: SmallRig thought of everything here. This product comes with the stand, a boom, and a counterweight system (eyelet that screws into the boom arm with sand bags). All for the price of a competitor's stand without accessories. You can't beat the value here.

SIZE: This stand has two sections that extend, so it is a bit larger, heavier, and bulkier than my triple-section stand. The extra bulk translates into sturdiness, and is worth the extra heft.

QUALITY: All the joints, locks, connectors, sections, etc. are built to last. This stand will last many years of hard service.

STABILITY: Did I mention that this is stand is stable? Rock solid. No sway. No slippage. It has a large footprint to keep the payload steady.

If you are on the fence, look no further. This light stand is exactly what you're looking for :)

Goes high enough and extends a decent amount for setting up interviews. Throw a 5lb bag on the arm and get perfect stability with your light fixture.

First, there is no description for this on the B&H catalog, so let me fill in a couple of things that were not obvious from the web-site.

- The stand I received INCLUDES a sandbag (empty) to counterbalance the boom arm...or stabilize the base.
- The boom arm will fit into the stand vertically to create a taller single-pole light stand.  It works much like a tripod with a boom-style center column.  Very Cool!  And makes for a more versatile stand.  If I dont need the boom it becomes part of the stand...rather than tyring to figure where to store it.
- There is no carry bag included.
- Nicely designed clamps for the legs that use a compression clamp to apply force, rather than just the screw tightening against the pole.

I bought this based on prior experience with Phottix products...and was not disappointed!  I use this as a medium weight C-Stand that stores and transports easier than a typical C-stand.   I work with speedlights and smaller softboxes, and this stand works fantastic with those!
