The HC83BW features a 17.7" long boom which offers positioning flexibility to best suit your playing style. In situations where space is limited, the stand can be converted to a straight stand with the boom neatly stored in the upper tube.

The HC83BW is equipped with a Quick-Set Tilter which can be adjusted to any desired angle and a Quick-Set Cymbal Mate which makes attaching and detaching cymbals fast and easy. • Tripod base with double-braced legs provides increased stability, ideal for placing cymbals high and/or odd angle

  • Offers positioning flexibility for crashes, splashes, and effect cymbals (17.7" long boom)

    • Quick-Set Tilter holds its position using the friction of six smooth metal disc plates instead of traditional toothed gears, so you can adjust it to any desired angle
    • Mechanism has a more durable structure than a conventional gear tilter

    • By simply gripping and pressing the two buttons on the both sides, users can attach and remove the Cymbal Mate with just one touch, making cymbals setup/breakdown a snap
    • Fine adjustments to the cymbal's swinging motion can be made by rotating the unit

    • Nylon washers are inserted into the leg stand joints to improve durability and make the leg action smoother

    • Convertible tilter lets you convert the stand to a straight stand in situations where stage space is limited – boom arm stores neatly in the upper tube

    • Placing a threaded, steel insert nut inside the tripod base provides more strength and makes stripping much less likely than with the traditional method of cutting the threads directly into the die-cast section

    • Cymbal bottom protects the cymbal's center hole from the tilter's shaft and threads
    • If part of the nylon sleeve wears out, you can continue to use the cymbal bottom by turning it upside down

    • Glide-Tite Grip Joint allows for a more secure attachment by using a metal-to-metal contact point which provides a solid anchor and complete isolation for a tom or cymbal
    • Because the stand does not move with the cymbal, the natural resonance of that instrument is maximized

    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this support an Amaran 200x with an Aputure light box 30120?

A: The Impact Combo Boom Stand (12.95') BH #IMLSCB6 will not support a 200x on the boom.

Q: 2. Can you attached a gvm 800d light on it?

A: Yes a GVM 800D RGB panel can be attached on the end of this boom.

Q: 3. What all is included with this item? What gear comes with it? I looked at the In the Box tab, but I just wanted to make sure.

A: Mine came with the stand, boom arm, spigot, and empty sand bag.

Q: 4. Is there a clip in box with this Microphone stand?

A: Hello, Thank you for contacting Samson Technologies. This stand does not come with a microphone clip. The stand's threading will fit any standard threaded microphone clip to accommodate most microphone clips you might have! If you have any other questions or inquiries, please let me know at any time. Best Regards, James (Product Specialist)

Q: 5. What are the maximum and minimum inclinations of this boom? I heard that it can support a maximum of 0.9kg at 6 inclination, can anyone explain this further? Thanks!

A: The stand can go 90-0 degrees. At 6 degrees which is almost horizontal and completely extended you cannot put more than 4.4 lbs of equipment on the boom. I also with most booms suggest using a sand bag on the bottom leg to help prevent it from falling over.

Q: 6. Is Samson SP04 Shockmount compatible with this mic stand?

A: Yes, both the stand and mount use 5/8" threading.

Q: 7. Will this work with elinchrom strobes?

A: As Elinchrom strobes have a light stand socket that is compatible with the standard 5/8 Baby stud on the Impact Combo Boom Stand - 12.95'. While it would be compatible with Elinchrom strobes, I would recommend to check the weight of your light and/or any light modifiers you will be using and ensure it fits the stand's maximum load limit. As indicated under the Specifications tab, when used as standard stand, the maximum load of the stand is 19.84 lbs (9.0 kg). When used at maximum extension, the maximum load of the stand is 4.4 lb (2.0 kg), and when used at maximum extension with 6 inclination, the maximum load of the stand is 2.0 lb (0.9 kg).

Q: 8. what is the max extention on the boom arm?

A: The boom arm of the Kupo Junior Boom Roller Stand (B&H# KUKS301512) at longer extensions will typically require a counterweight (e.g. a sandbag like B&H# IMSBFO15) and the degree to which it may be extended will vary by the relative distances from the point at which it attaches to the stand and those of the counterweight, on the one hand, and light (or other addition), on the other. Although the boom arm is about 60" long when fully extended, it should not be used at full extension and counterweighting is essential.

Q: 9. What microphone holders are best to use with this stand?

A: This comes with a 3/8 screw which is compatible with many Audio items

Q: 10. What kind of wheels will work for this stand?

A: With the Sirui C-STAND-01 C-Stand with Boom Arm (Chrome), you may use the Kupo Runway Stand Base (https://bhpho.to/3EfyXKE) or the Kupo 340 Roller Stand Base (https://bhpho.to/3WLt5l8).

this mic boom, although made in china, which gets my goat, met or exceeded my expectations for a studio application.

The T3664 with B2237 is also called the BT3664 as a set. The T3664 is the tall stand. After looking for a high quality boom stand to hold my vocal mic and iPad in front of me, this is the best portable one available. It's more expensive, but my last mic stand is still OK after 25 years of use. This one will outlast me. It's very solid and the swivel point has steps so that the boom arm won't sag. I decided to buy from B&H because there was no shipping charge. The base price was similar all over the web. It was shipped direct from Atlas (drop-shipped, as they call it).

Pro drummer needed to replace my 10 year old vocal mic boom. After trying to shop local, getting home and opening the box I was shocked to see a toy boom stand. Played one show with it and the goose neck snapped right off in sound check. Duck tape to the rescue. This stand is the real deal. Heavy duty with weights that really help when working on different stages each show. As a drummer I can tell you that you can't have your vocal mic bouncing around when your playing.

We ordered this stand after trying a cheaper version that broke after several uses. This stand is made of much sturdier metal and feels like it will hold up after a lot of travel. It is fairly heavy, but that's a necessary tradeoff given what's available. The length is also good because it will fit in a tripod bag.

Atlas Sound TB3664 tripod mic stand with boom is typical Atlas Sound quality. parts and controls are all firm, solid and feel as though they'll last. when one really wants to review something is after it's been used, thrown around and depended upon for years. We all have less expensive equipment. It simply doesn't withstand the use as long as good equipment. what also gets fine review is B&H customer service & delivery. I'll be back ;+)

Thick gauge steel, heavy, stays in place. Unsure about twist lock release for legs - great (new) design or hassle of a feature that's gonna break?? All good for now. If you're as frustrated by cheapo mic stands as I am this is for you.
