Gura Gear Anansi Multi-purpose Bean Bag

Gura Gear Anansi Multi-purpose Bean Bag
  • Product Code: ga36914
  • Availability: In Stock

$104.85 $147.84

The Anansi from Tamrac is a versatile, multi-purpose bean bag designed to support camera lenses, stabilize tripods, or weigh down light stands. Almost any job which requires a bean bag or ballast bag can be fulfilled with the Anansi.

Featuring an hourglass shape which splits in the middle, the Anansi can be used on a flat surface, folded over, draped on tripod leg, or light stand base. As it ships empty, the user is given free choice to fill the bag with any material they deem necessary. Soft or hard, light or heavy, organic material, and beads are all fair game.

From a technical point of view, the bag has been designed to withstand heavy loads and the rigors of field use. It features a Cordura construction with a non-slip base for added traction on any surface. The seams of the bag have also been double stitched and each handle and strap has been reinforced for extra durability. Inside, a hook-and-loop divider controls the flow of fill from one side of the bag to the other and YKK zippers open the bag for filling or emptying the inner compartment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can Kiboko V2.0 16L backpack and V2.0 22L backpack also hide shoulder straps and hipbelts behind the back panel of the backpack like the original V1.0 22L backpack?

A: Only the 30L has the strap hiding feature.

Q: 2. I am trying to find out if my camera equipment will fit, I have 2 bodies, the Olympus OMD-M1X and a Mark III body, lenses to carry are Olympus 12-40; 40-150; 7-14 and 150-400 pro lenses; and a 13 inch thin laptop, these are the large pieces, multiple small items, teleconverter etc. Will this fit? Anything else to suggest that can be carried on; I have a 26 mindshift but the new 150=400 is an issue

A: Yes, that will all fit in the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 22L Backpack (Black) (B&H# GUK2022LP). The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO Lens (B&H# OL15040045) will be snug, but it'll fit.

Q: 3. Is there anyway to a pro-size body (1dx) with lens attached, even the body on its side? Does the top have any flexibility?

A: You'd have to have the lens and camera separate for it to fit.

Q: 4. Has anyone had experience putting this under a standard airplane seat?

A: Yes it fits

Q: 5. Hi, I'd like to know if the Kiboko 16l can hold pro bodies like Eos 1DX or 5DmkIV with grip ? Can we carry a body with a 70-200mm lens mounted ? Thanks.

A: It is not deep enough for DSLR with vertical grips being only 4.33" / 109.9mm and grip cameras being about 6.6"/ 167mm high.

Q: 6. What is the interior depth? I had the 1.0 version but ended up replacing it because the interior depth was too shallow for a DSLR body with a battery grip and L bracket.

A: 4.72 inches.

Q: 7. Does this bag fit under an airline seat?

A: The Gura Gear Chobe 2.0 13" Carry Bag (measuring at 14.2 x 9.4 x 6.3") is likely to fit under an airline seat, but you should always check with the airline carrier to review their allowed carry-on dimensions before flying.

Q: 8. Can a 600 mm prime lens fit?

A: No, this bag is too small for the 600mm tele lens.

Q: 9. Can the backpack straps be stored for travel?

A: Yes, when using the Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 22L Backpack, one can store the backpack straps for travel.

Q: 10. I have a Canon 5D mk4 (no grip), a 16-35mm f4, a 24-70mm f2.8, a 70-200mm f2.8, a 17mm f4 TS-E, a 24mm F3.5 TS-E, an extender en lots of Lee filters and sometimes I bring my 13 inch MacBook Pro too. Does this all fit in the 22L, or is even the Kiboko 16L enough for all this?

A: Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 22L Backpack will fit your gear perfectly , I would consider Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack just so I can have a little more room for extra stuff , the 16 would not fit

Like many (most!) photographers, I own (too) many bags. I am perpetually in search of the perfect bag to carry accessories like a laptop, cables, chargers, etc. when I travel with the camera and lenses in a separate carry-on purpose-built bag. I carry on EVERYTHING I need to do a shoot in the event my checked luggage is delayed or, shudder!, lost. I sometimes wish I could be a cool as many cinema folks who check their gear and save their spines!

In short: I will probably sell most of my super-nice – and expensive, leather bags I use to carry my Leica gear in favor of the Gura Gear Chobe 16 v2. It is incredibly well thought-out and does exactly what I need it to do, transport accessories in a way that they are organized and findable at quick notice.

There are two small issues I would like to see addressed: many companies provide a flap on one of the carry handles that lets one 'lock' both together and keep the shoulder strap from flopping on the floor. I have bought a neoprene pad with hook & loop to do this but it is really too thick. A thin leather piece with button snap would be perfect.

The other, less important issue, is I would like to see the top rim of the back luggage handle pass-thru have a color. It looks like a pocket and while I have gotten used to it not being such, I did lose my expensive ear buds when I first got the bag. In a hurry I pushed them into the space mindlessly thinking it was a pocket. Of course, someone else is now wearing them.

This was a great addition for a “personal item” carry on to the plane. It carry’s not only my 14” MacBook Pro laptop but all of my camera connection cables, external drives, extra batteries , wireless camera remotes, and 2 sets of wireless headsets and remote transmitters for on the plane. It fits at my feat so my camera bag can be in the overhead.

I already have the Kiboko 30 which is a really useful bag which I am able to carry on my back (thank goodness for the waist strap - I am a small senior citizen). It holds my 400 lens & my 70-200 lens & one camera. This is where the Xhone 2.0 comes in - this small bag holds my other 100-400 lens, TC & camera plus all the little things I need. It also holds my laptop & my travel documents.

I really like Gura products.
