Veracity Highwire 8-port Ethernet Over Coax Powerstar Base Unit

Veracity Highwire 8-port Ethernet Over Coax Powerstar Base Unit
  • Product Code: ga36933
  • Availability: In Stock

$2,849.97 $4,046.96

The base side HIGHWIRE 8-Port Ethernet over Coax Powerstar from Veracity works with the HIGHWIRE Powerstar camera side (available separately) to deliver PoE to an IP camera over RG59 or RG11 cable. The base unit receives PoE power from a standard PoE switch or injector and transmits it down coaxial cable. All detection and setup occurs automatically. The unit is powered by an external 57 VDC power supply (available separately).

This unit features SafeView to provide a quick confirmation of correct operation from either end of the cable. The low-power design and efficient power delivery enables long range extension, even over low-grade cable, such as high-resistance copper-clad steel (CCS) types. Reliable power delivery is also ensured at the source, where either screw-terminal connections or a UPS-backed PoE supply can be used. It delivers a full 200 Mb/s of bandwidth at up to 1000' of RG59 or 1600' of RG11 coax.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the DC Power input in the screw terminals?

A: We use our 57V DC power supply, but you do not require power on the camera side of this point to point setup. You can place the 57V DC power supply, VPSU-57V-800, on the base end and POE will be sent over the coax, power the camera side and supply you with up to 25Watts to your end device. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call us at (800) 679-1590 or email into sales@veracityusa.com.

Q: 2. How does IP addressing work? Does the unit pull 4 IPs from my network or reuse 1? I am trying to determine if I will end up with a quad-display inside one of the camera zone's on my NVR.

A: All this unit does is convert the Ethernet signal to work over coax, your router will still provide each device with an IP address. You will still need the VHW-HWPS-C to make this work properly.

Q: 3. Whait is the difference between the outreach lite and the outreach max Ethernet extender?

A: While both units need PoE to function, the Outreach Max MUST send power and data or the unit will not function properly. The Outreach Lite is the device you would use to extend data without power and additional 100 meters.

Q: 4. Does the unit come with a power supply already or is that separate?

A: The Veracity HIGHWIRE Powerstar QUAD does not come with a power supply. A 57V power supply is separate.

Q: 5. How many watts of POE power does this support?

A: The Veracity OUTREACH Max G Gigabit Ethernet & PoE Extender (BH # VEVORORMG) supports up to 90W of power onto an Ethernet cable while maintaining backwards compatibility with older IEEE PoE standards.

Q: 6. Up to 1600' using RG11 cable at full rate. Does this mean a maximum distance is capable of 1600' on RG-11 or means a further distance is achievable but signal speed would decrease and not run at 200 mbps?

A: The details about the distance is due to the Bandwidth limitation.

Q: 7. Do you need a moca filter on coax coming into house?

A: You will need to install one unit near your router and one near your mesh or device units when installing the ASUS MA-25 MoCA 2.5 Coax to Ethernet Adapter (2-Pack) BH #ASMA252PK.

Q: 8. To reach a distance of 500 ft (Cat 6 Cable PoE from NVR to Camera), do I need one PoE Extender in the middle only?

A: Yes you can put one of these in the middle of the run, just remember this model is not weather proof.

Q: 9. This will supply POE power to cameras located 800 feet away?

A: If you are speaking about the distance from the VHW-HWPS-C4 to the cameras, then we are looking at 100 meters which is the ethernet standard. However, the distance between the VHW-HWPS-B and the VHW-HWPS-C4 is 300 meters.

Q: 10. does the rack mount chassis come with the unit?

A: Yes, the rack mount ears do come with the unit that allows you to mount the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are nice adapters to have to boost your wireless signal. They were very easy to set up and connect well to the modem. They are a slim design and fits in many places. Overall this is a great product.

The MA-25 was easy to install. After installing the MA-25, my Internet connection speed on the branch of my home network where it is attached is around 500 mbps, which is about 200 mbps faster than my main ethernet connection. Am very pleased with the results! The MA-25 is well-constructed and includes everything needed to use it on your home network. I have used other ASUS products before and have always been pleased with them. I would definitely recommend the MA-25 to anyone needing to set up a MOCA network at home.

Works flawlessly without any drop unlike Powerline Ethernet adapters. Just make sure to create a network using the adapters in 2-Pack first before adding(pairing) any other individual single pack MOCA adapters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These little adapters work pretty well. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. They extend my internet to other areas of my house where it normally wouldn't reach. The speeds are pretty decent and I really can't complain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t even know this was a possibility until now and definitely will not be going without anymore! These are a total game changer with a big family! We now have better connections everywhere in the house where it lacked before!

The only way I could get fast gaming on the Xbox One was by using my Asus routers, they’re pretty good for playing with my PC on a regular basis
