Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, I have a height of 160 cm, which model do you recommend?

A: I have the regular version. The dimensions are 195.5 cm x 172.7cm. All I can say is that it works for me and gives me a good coverage. I am 5’11”.

Q: 2. Is the regular weight very heavy or should I consider the lightweight version?

A: I have the regular and it is only 2.3 lbs

Q: 3. Does anyone know if this will work with smaller lenses? I shoot the G9 with 100-300ii lens. It looks like the expect you to shoot a FF 600!

A: It can be adjusted to work with almost any lens and camera combination.

Q: 4. Would it be possible to don this blind over myself with camera and tripod, and then wade into shallow waters, making this a water blind of sorts? I'd really love to be able to photograph waterfowl from as close to eye level (water level) as possible, but don't know if this would be two cumbersome when wet.

A: YEs you would be able to do that with this blind. Though it is not fully waterproof, it is water repellant, so I would just ensure to hang it to dry once you are done shooting for the day.

Q: 5. Would this fit over a Sigma contemporary 150-600 lens? What about smaller telephotos such as under 105mm?

A: Yes, the LensCoat LensHide Water-Repellent Photo Blind is a good option for the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens. It is a but cumbersome to use with shorter lenses like 105mm, but it is possible.

Q: 6. Can you lay down with this blind?

A: Yes you can but if you want to be closer to the ground, why not sit on a small stool.

Q: 7. Hey there, do these work on Canon M50 mark ll?

A: The M50 II batteries are pretty small so this would definitely work for it.

Q: 8. What is the difference between the Max-4 and the Max-5?

A: The MAX-5 is a little more subtle in terms of color saturation. Less browns more tan, like reeds, etc...

Q: 9. I want to be able to sit on a small stool or chair, with tripod/big lens. Will it fit over my chair and tripod?

A: Yes, assuming your chair or stool is on the smaller side.

Q: 10. Is this waterproof?

A: no, although the store has a waterproof version

The LensHide is light, easy to use and carry. Most importantly it's effective in helping you get closer to your subjects. My first use was to get close to kingfishers and green heron. I had both drop in, stay and conduct their natural behavior like I wasn't even there. Same result when I went under the hide, 14 feet from hummingbirds feeding. While sitting for hours, I'm able to drink my coffee or water and even check my cell phone without disturbing nervous wildlife. I have no complaints about the design, but I do have a user tip. The cap doesn't really attach securely to your head, so it can be a bit annoying when you turn your head back and forth and will definitely give you a bad hair day. But, if you wear a hat that fits your head, it makes the experience much more enjoyable. I use a floppy brim bucket style hat and fold the front part of the brim upward then pull the cap down over the hat. Now the hide moves with you verses sliding around on your head. I find it much, much more comfortable and improves the usability of the blind. If you need to step out for a moment, it's easy to lift the back of the material up, lay it over the camera and then quickly get back in. I've used it sitting down and standing up. Works great in both positions. I'm sure it will work equally as well laying down.

Works great and seems to help when dealing with skittish animals. I highly recommend it

Make sure you need the water repellent type as it get very hot inside. Impossible to use in Texas summers. I assume their other model is more breathable

Fast setup and hidden because the human form is camouflaged - way better than a ghille suit.

Ok, I got this PhotoBlind from Lens Coat, straight from them over 3 years ago. It's my absolute must wherever I go. Photographing birds is still my hobby even if I am over 60 and have some issues with my back spine. Why? Exactly due to this, I can just sit on a small collapsible stool, fix my tripod, my camera, the long lens, and I get it all under this coat! It was very long for me so I just trimmed it, and used the rest to make another small cammo cover for the camera when I don't need to use the full set (Specially when I am in the car) After washing, using, lying on the grass with it , putting it even over some rocks to make them less aggressive to my rears (LOL) I can say this thing is a great invention. Lens coat might not seem cheap, but when you see how long their stuff last, it's great.

I haven’t had the opportunity to use the blind but once so far but it is very easy to use and is very well made. It was a good choice and I am looking forward to putting it work.

I used the blind to sit on my back yard patio and get within about 8 feet of my hummingbird feeder and photograph hummers for hours. It's light weight and easy to put on. The birds were curious about the blind and buzzed very near me to check me out. I got great shots of them that I could not have gotten otherwise. Now, I'm ready for a real field trip.

I purchased this last summer and it amazing. I was with-in 100' of a coyote family and, while they knew somethings was there, the never recognized me as a threat and I was able to photograph them for about 10 minutes.
