A: I agree. The lights get really hot, but fortunately I don't need to move mine. They do a great job of illuminating the 24 x 36 art work that I was wanting to photograph.

A: There is a screw knob to hold the umbrella shaft in place on this light. That is located just to right of the stand adapter. However, the umbrella shaft would need to be inserted at a slight angle all the way through the umbrella slot.

A: That bag got torn apart so easily. I threw it away after a week. I'd find a better bag.

A: I think the easiest way for color correction is to gel this light and or custom white balance in camera. I am pretty sure they are tungsten only because of how hot they get. I make sure to custom white balance my camera and gel the light for any other needs. Hope that helps.

Q: 9. What is the luminous efficacy of the Lowel Tota?

A: Since the Tota Light uses a photographic grade tungsten halogen bulb, the best a bulb can do is about 28 lumens per watt. Being that its also an open face fixture, it fairly efficient in that most of the light that is produced is projected forward. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to change the efficiency of the bulb. As an alternative, you could choose a fixture with a more efficient reflector like the Arri 1k Mini Flood.
