Improving the viewfinder image for far-sighted users, this Leica Correction Lens M provides a +0.5-dioptric adjustment to the camera's finder for more comfortable viewing and a reduced need for wearing eyeglasses while shooting. Leica rangefinders, by default, are preset to -0.5 diopters, and this correction lens will bring the final strength to 0.0 diopters.

This correction lens has a screw-on attachment and is compatible with select Leica M cameras, including the M (Typ 240), M9, M8, M7, and older cameras; please consult your camera's user manual for exact compatibility.

I suspected that I was having focusing issues with my M7 and several Leica lens. It was hard for me to find the correct focus with normal eyesight or glasses and taking longer than necessary to fine tune it. I then found out that I could get a diopter lens from Leica to help with my focusing. On the web I found out from a optometrist that I could determine the diopter value from my eye glass prescription by looking at the Sphere value and use that number for the value of the diopter needed to order. My Sphere value was +1.00 so I ordered that value Diopter. The difference was immediate and incredible. Now I have no problem focusing very fast and very accurately. Well worth the price. With the usual Leica quality lens. 5

This was just what the doctor ordered...figuratively speaking, of course. I'm a bit near sighted and need glasses to see at a distance but the standard eye piece with the Leica M2 wasn't bringing things into proper focus. After a little research I surmised what I needed was a +1 diopter. It was spot on and now things can be brought into focus quicker and more sure than before. A proper diopter is highly recommended for rangefinder accuracy and this was it. It screwed right in and crystal clear. 5

The quality is Leica excellent. Choosing the correct diopter adjustment for your eye(s) is tricky and can take trial-and-error time. It's best if you consult your eye care professional before ordering. (Remember, the M9 comes -0.5) 5
